Teatro ZinZanni's Managing Director, Patrick Markle, today announced that Teatro ZinZanni in San Francisco would be offering summer circus workshops for kids ages 9 - 16. The highly successful project began last year in Seattle under the banner of The ZinZanni Institute for Circus Arts (ZICA). At Camp ZinZanni, students learn the basics of circus arts and scene development through workshops with some of the world's greatest cirque artists and stage technicians.
"We are proud to push into new artistic territory aimed at bringing kids into meaningful, enriching contact with the world of theater, music, and circus arts of Teatro ZinZanni," Markle stated. "These camps are designed to build skills and self-confidence through one-on-one interaction with the world class artists of the ZinZanni cast, and it's a great way for us to reach out into the community." For a period of one week, students will attend workshops conducted by Teatro Zinzanni's resident artists, designers and technicians that illustrate how a performer's skills help define character. Teatro ZinZanni's performers will demonstrate what it takes "behind the scenes" to make a theatre magical.Ages 9-16
