A.D. Productions Opens Interactive Comedy VANISHED, 7/28

A.D. Productions will present the world premiere of Carlsbad playwright Steven Oberman's new audience interactive comedy 'Vanished,' a play that separates the sexes into parallel worlds to see how they get on without their "better" halves. The comedy runs July 26 through August 18 and will take place at Swedenborg Hall, located at 1531 Tyler Ave., San Diego. Preview performances are Thursday, July 26 and Friday, July 27 and opening night is Saturday, July 28.

The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team for the San Diego Premiere of God of Carnage, written by Yasmina Reza and translated by Christopher Hampton. The Tony Award-winning comedy is directed by Richard Seer and will run July 27 - Sept. 2 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run July 27 - Aug. 1. Opening night is Thursday, Aug. 2 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at www.TheOldGlobe.org, by phone at (619) 23-GLOBE or by visiting the Box Office at 1363 Old Globe Way in Balboa Park. In the play, two powerhouse lawyers face off in a small town with the eyes of an entire nation upon them when a schoolteacher is arrested for teaching Charles Darwin's theories of evolution. When the issue goes to trial, the two attorneys must passionately confront questions of faith and science in a heated courtroom. National New Play Network Adds San Diego Rep as 26th Member

The NATIONAL NEW PLAY NETWORK (NNPN), the country's alliance of non-profit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, has added its 26th member, San Diego REPertory Theatre, and approved guidelines for a new Associate Membership category which will greatly broaden the Network's reach. The decisions were made by the organization's Board of Directors at its Annual Conference on June 8 in Kansas City, MO, hosted by member Unicorn Theatre Company.
