SUMMARY
Act I
Fleeing from a huge serpent, the prince Tamino ended up in the mountains. The last time cried out for help, he falls unconscious. At that moment three ladies hit the monster. The beauty of the prince leads them in admiration, each dreaming of his love, and no one wants to go to their lady - the Queen of the Night, to report the incident. After much debate, they go together. Tamino regains consciousness and hears the sound of the flute. Before him the bird catcher Papageno - a strange creature in the guise of a bird's feathers. The Prince thanked him, considering his savior. Papageno accepts the importance of gratitude. Upon his return, the three ladies punish him for his boasting: close the mouth with his magical castle. They announce to the Prince that he was in possession of the Queen of the Night, which is a sign of goodwill sent him a portrait of her daughter Pamina, abducted, "unworthy of the villain" - sorcerer Sarastro. If at first glance at the portrait of Tamino feel love, waiting for him happiness, fame and honor. Subdued by the beauty of the girl, the prince is ready to release any price Pamina. In the sparkle of lightning before it appears Star Queen herself, she turns to a young man with an appeal to save her daughter. In the court of Sarastro great excitement: the captain Moor Monostatos, was set stretch Pamina, so assiduously wooed her love,

Accompanied by a magical boys, Tamino is near the temple, the beauty and grandeur of which are impressive young man. She goes to meet him - the chief priest. When he learned that this temple - the home of Sarastro, Tamino comes in a frenzy: it committed atrocities! She stops him severely - in the realm dominated by Sarastro wisdom and kindness, even though the reason for the abduction Pamina, he may not open.

Act II
Solemn ritual of the Order of initiates. Sarastro announces the supreme will: Tamino and Papageno must undergo testing in order to accept initiation into the brotherhood of the wise. He explains the reasons for the abduction Pamina: it was impossible to leave her lying in the power, power-loving mother. Love is pure hearts, passed the test, will be the last link in the building of the Temple, Tamino and prepared for the role of his protector. Summer Night. Monostatos, driven by all, suddenly finds the sleeping Pamina. Moor to lust after looking at her. Why not try one more time to master it? At the last minute it stops the voice of the Queen of the Night. Pamina is happy to see her mother, but she bursts into a storm of reproaches. Collapse of hope that Tamino, Sarastro eliminated, will help it regain its former power. Queen of the Night gives Pamina a dagger with a requirement to kill the wizard and remove him from his breast the sacred solar disc - a symbol of power. Threatening to abandon her daughter in case of disobedience, it disappears as suddenly as it came. Now Monostatos triumphs - he's seen and heard. He pulls out a dagger and a confused girl, threatening to expose and death, demands her love. Pamina refuses, but when the blade enters the Moor over it, it stops Sarastro. It calms the girl, he was aware of all the intrigues of the Queen, but he is not going to take revenge on her, his answer will be the dedication of the prince and their happiness with Pamina. Sarastro reveals to her the law of peace and friendship, which is controlled by his kingdom.
Threshold of the temple. These priests lead Tamino and Papageno. They must remain silent, but Papageno chatter erupts. He grumbles that there is nothing to wet his throat, and then, as if out of the ground, there is a decrepit old woman with a pitcher who coyly says that she was eighteen years old and that she has a boyfriend named Papageno. His name is not time to call: a clap of thunder makes her disappear, and Papageno swears to remain silent. The three boys returned to his magical bells, and Tamino - a flute. Flute attracts Pamina. She happily runs to Tamino, but he sure vow forced to remain silent. "Coldness" lover throws her into despair: the Prince is no longer loves her.
The temple priests welcome Tamino, withstood the test. A late Papageno wants to follow him, but the priest announces he will of the gods: his weakness forgive and give life, but he elected to enter the circle is not worthy. Pamina alone, tormented by a terrible anguish. In her hand a dagger. Why live if Tamino no longer loves her? Three magical boy hold it against the fatal step and calm: Prince loves Pamina still.
The priests guarding that part of the temple, which allowed only a dedicated, having overcome passion, temptation and the fear of death. This leads Tamino that he has passed the final test. Suddenly he heard a voice to Pamina: "Stop, and I'm with you!". Under the Tune of a magic flute, they fearlessly go through fire and water. They are met gala, jubilant shouts of the members of the brotherhood.
Papageno is looking for his vanished beauty. With grief, he decides to commit suicide. But at the last minute magic boys reminded him of the wonderful bells. Just heard their sounds, as Papagena appears in front of admiring birders. Crazed with happiness, he seemed to lose his voice: "Pa ... pa ... pa ...". Together with Papagena they dream about family happiness, surrounded by many kids.
Queen of the Night, accompanied by three ladies enters the temple of Sarastro. Traitor Monostatos promises to help destroy the temple and all the initiates. As a reward he promised Pamina. You hear a clap of thunder. There comes a day, and with it disappears the power of the Queen of the Night. The darkness is dissipated, the sun rises. Sarastro declares victory. All praise the human mind, goodness, light and love.
