At the Yekaterinburg (then Sverdlovsk) «Le CORSAIRE» first time scene was delivered December 19, 1926 GODA (Director-choreographer-M.f. Moiseyev, conductor-producer – N.b. Grubin, art director – Alexander Dubrovin).

The emergence of Ballet, well the audience spoke about many things and, above all, about the increased capabilities of the Sverdlovsk Ballet, his unquestionable recognition of spectators and, consequently, on the right to the establishment of an independent and much more varied repertoire. Critics, however, noted the ability of choreographer M.f. Moiseeva to interesting time "decisions even in the most modest financial and technical capabilities."

But soon the "Corsair" disappeared from the repertoire, and only eighteen years later returned to the stage of our theatre as choreographer V.a. Kononovi?a (conductor-producer – A. G. Friedlander, art director – B. A. Matrunin). And never disappeared from the repertoire for a long time. Since by this performance were not, perhaps, any outstanding ballerina or danseur Yekaterinburg. Viewers still has always attracted n.v.Gogol bajronovskoj poem, which served as the prototype for the ballet, strong human passions, the pirates sail the Mediterranean, abducted the girl, Turkish Pasha and beautiful Oriental women.

Each epoch, each generation contributing their understanding of classical dance, their shadings and nuances in interpretation of the story of the clash of love and deceit. In 1956, the ballet "Le CORSAIRE" has put the young choreographer this year in its own scenic edition Grishina, a much more advantageous than the older, very archaic (conductor-producer – E.i. Krasovitsky, production designer-V.a. Lûdmilin). Solistah, participants of the staging, such reviews: Claudia ?ermenskaâ was very dynamic Medora, she flashed a good dance technique. Very striking in appearance but slightly holodnovatuû Medora created Sophie Taranovska. Plastic and net in drawing, but not sufficiently energetic dance demonstrated Czeslaw Žebrauskas (Conrad). Stronger and more courageous was Conrad the Venira Kruglova (c. Èbergardt. from the book "our House").

It is worth saying about 1971, the choreographer G.g. Malhasânca (G.g. Malhasânca scenario in a musical version of E.b. Manayeu with l. Delibes divertissement; conductor-producer – E.b. Manaev, art director – Igor Bazhenov). It was the author's statement, in which the plot and characters and, thus, the choreography had been largely redefined under the new development trends of that time ballet art.

Choreographic version of the ballet "Le CORSAIRE" by Marius Petipa in the stage version of Konstantin Sergeyev was moved to the stage of the Ekaterinburg Opera Theatre Ballet Master Boris Blank in 1994 year (conductor-producer – V. Lâgas, art director – I.v. Tibilov). Konstantin Sergeyev has carried out this staging back in 1973, in the Leningrad theater. Kirov (now Mariinsky), and in 1992, he resumed at the Bolshoi Theatre.

The directors were able to create a bright and original spectacle scenically, as they contributed to the leading ballet dancers: honoured artist of the Russia Natalia Gordienko (Medora), Vera Abaševa (Medora) and Tatyana Gichin (Gulnare), people's artist of Russia Lilia Vorobyeva (Gulnare), honoured artists of Russia Vladimir Polovinkin (Conrad, slave), Yuri Vedenev (Conrad, slave) and Nikolai Ostapenko (Pasha), Anatoly Gordienko (Lankedem). A good impression in the Party of Conrad, according to critics, was producing young dancer Alexei Nasadovi?, physically strong, ductile and music ".

26, 27 and April 28, 2007, Yekaterinburg "Corsair" scene appeared in the choreographic version by Jean-Guillaume Bara – Paris Opera Ballet. Music Director of productions made by Michael Güttler. In the premiere performances of Conrad in the party made the Paris Opera Ballet soloist Stefan Bûl?on. The peculiarity of this "Corsair" in that one performance combines two different dance schools – English and French. Jean-Guillaume had tried to keep the Bar close to original productions, because they are, in his words, is quite logical and musical. Ballet Master of strived only to the choreography that is very academic discipline are Mo, all the movements would be meaningful and would be filled with dance.
