Children’s Shakespeare Theatre to perform
Much Ado About Nothing
March 6, 7, 13 & 14 at 7pm, at Palisades Presbyterian Church
Children’s Shakespeare Theatre will present performances of the next production in its Season of Character, Much Ado About Nothing.
Presented by a cast of fourteen, young people ages 12-18 who come from Rockland, Westchester, Bronx and Bergen counties, this production will perform at Palisades Presbyterian Church, Friday and Saturday evenings, March 6, 7, 13 & 14, at 7pm.
Much Ado About Nothing is the classic romantic comedy. It’s summer in Italy and the soldiers have just returned from war. The story continues with a masked dance, a “will they or won’t they” plot and heightened stakes, including a bastard brother and a wedding gone wrong. Come for the love and share the joy. Directed by Brady Amoonclark, Assistant Directed by Megan Kip-Holden, this story will be told in Shakespearean clothing, with Shakespearean dances, the way Shakespeare intended (with the exception that women will be on the stage). Music curated by Ian Moore, choreography by Kate Valentine, set pieces by Christopher Moone, and lighting by Michael Gnazzo.
Children’s Shakespeare Theatre strives to develop confident and creative young people through the performance of Shakespeare’s plays. Since their founding in 1999, they have been dedicated to offering quality educational theater, building a community that enriches the lives of young actors and their families. In this production, long-time company members, Emmeline Zuba (playing Beatrice), Emilia Falkner (playing Leonata), and Sofie Barsanti (Hero), local high school seniors, will be giving their farewell CST performances, with newcomer and senior Max Binder playing Benedick. Our cast includes Silas Bobrow, Adelaide Macri, Richard Reimann Valdes, Jack Bieger, Myla Zimbler, Iris King, Aaron Benjamin, Levon Goldberg, Avery Chase, and Megan McAree.
Tickets and more information about the play and the company are available at www. childrensshakespeare.org. The Palisades Presbyterian Church is located at 117 Washington Springs Road in Palisades, NY.
