Tennessee Williams' Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Cat on a Hot Tin Roof closes Season 41 at The Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre. In the sweltering Mississippi heat, the Pollitt family gathers to celebrate Big Daddy's birthday, but the air is thick with tension as young Brick drinks to forget, Maggie claws for love, and everyone is hiding something. Directed by Steve Kidd, the production stars Nora Eschenheimer as Maggie, Michael Underhill as Brick, Joe Penczak as Big Daddy, and Karen MacDonald as Big Mama. The play burns with desire, denial, and the desperate fight to hold on to what's already slipping away.

June 01, 2026 As I am writing this for the Rhode Island section of Broadway World, I feel as though I am uniquely equipped to talk about Tennessee Williams, or at least the world that so often lives inside his work, being that I am a Southerner who has now spent roughly thirteen years in New England.
