Nice People finds Rita running a food shack out of her apartment building as her xenophobic neighbor Frances freaks out. For her newest creation Nice People, Carol Triffle sprinkles her comedy with racism, immigration, and old age. If that sounds too bleak, you're underestimating Triffle's mining of dark humor. Oregon ArtsWatch critic Bob Hicks called Triffle "Portland's most prominent stage absurdist" while Portland Mercury reviewer John Rudoff said of her last show "absurdist in its delivery, but its subject matter is reflective of our time."
Laura Loy and Anne Sorce, previously seen in Happyness (The Wrecking Ball), play Rosie and Frances, and Lesley Arcila (A Streetcar Named Desire) plays Rita.
