Experience Theatre Project's THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY Opens January 18

Experience Theatre Project, Beaverton's only professional immersive theater company, is proud to announce a Pacific Northwest premiere of The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, at the Beaverton Masonic Lodge in old downtown Beaverton over four weekends in January and February, 2019. The show has been adapted for an immersive live theater experience by ETP's founder and artistic director, Alisa Stewart. The Picture of Dorian Gray is generously sponsored by Ronni Lacroute and the Regional Arts and Culture Coalition.

Lakewood Theatre Company Presents Young Playwrights Festival

Come to Lakewood Theatre Company to see brand new theatre works premiered through the Fertile Ground Festival in January 23 - February 3, 2019. This year Lakewood will premiere four new works. Fertile Ground, a Portland-wide festival that involves local theatres, artists, and playwrights, "aspires to increase the appreciation for Portland's lush creative culture, the artists and projects spawned right here in our native soil." Fertile Ground is put on by the Portland Area Theatre Alliance, a nonprofit volunteer organization in collaboration with local nonprofit theatres.

Mary Shelley's Frankenstein is reimagined as a dark, passionate musical within a nostalgic gothic realm of late 1990s Oregon, complete with anticipation of the approaching year 2000, booming technology, and unrequited love. Fertile Ground audiences are invited to be a part of the process as act 1 of this musical-in-progress is presented as a reading (with 12 songs). Runtime approximately 75 minutes.
New Play, KAIT, Reframes The Trans Narrative Through Sci-Fi, Artificial Intelligence

Kait, a staged reading of the play by Rebecca Petchenik, will premiere on Sunday, February 3rd at Hipbone Studio, located at 1847 E. Burnside St. #104. The play is a sci-fi legal drama that explores themes of women's empowerment, artificial intelligence, queerness, and trans rights. The reading is an entry in the Fertile Ground 2019 Festival lineup, and is co-produced by PDX Playwrights and Zelda Strong.

Corrib Theatre presents Lisa Tierney-Keogh's Four Last Things, directed by Gemma Whelan, a play that takes on the difficult, culturally pervasive topic of depression with warmth and tenderness. The production features an accomplished three-person cast and runs for four weeks, January 31 through February 24, at New Expressive Works, 810 SE Belmont St., in Portland, Oregon.

To the delight of her fans, the 10th anniversary special engagement of Storm Large's autobiographical, one-woman rock musical Crazy Enough goes on sale to the public on Jan. 4. Crazy Enough broke records at The Armory in 2009 with a sold-out, 21-week run. Beginning with stories of a childhood complicated by her mother's schizophrenia, Large takes us through the ups and downs of the years that follow - sex, drugs, running away to California, and the saving grace of rock 'n' roll.  Crazy Enoughfeatures original songs by Large and James Beaton, including the hilarious and incredibly catchy "My Vagina is Eight Miles Wide." It will be directed by Daniel Stern with original music director Beaton on the U.S. Bank Main Stage. Crazy Enough will open on Large's 50th birthday.

Portland favorite Nick Cearley returns to The Armory to reprise his role as a fictional shop-boy in Barbara Streisand's real-life shopping mall in Jonathan Tolins' hilarious comedy Buyer & Cellar. Cearley (Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors) has performed the play across the country, playing Alex More - the out of work actor who says yes to a mysterious job and ends up in the basement of a legend - along with the rotating cast of characters who fill Alex's life, including Barbra Streisand.

Performances continue on December 15, 16,  and 18, 19, 20, 21, 22 and 23 at 7:30 PM. There will also be matinee performances at 2:00 PM on Saturday Dec. 15, Sunday Dec. 16, Saturday Dec. 22 and Sunday Dec. 23.
