Ballet Arizona and The Phoenix Symphony have partnered for a romance that is sure to set your heart aflame as they perform the most famous love story of all time, Romeo & Juliet. This classic tale takes the Symphony Hall stage for six performances over Valentines Day weekend, February 10-13, 2022. The ballet, choreographed by Ballet Arizonas renowned Artistic Director Ib Anderson, is a feast for the eyes and ears with sweepingly regal ballroom scenes, vivacious swordplay, and poignant pas de deux to the tune of Russian composer Sergei Prokofievs dramatic and moving score. A production for ballet, literature, and classical music fans alike, Romeo & Juliet seamlessly blends the touching yet tragic story of doomed love with Prokofievs rich score. The score is rarely heard in its entirety but will be performed in full by the acclaimed Phoenix Symphony, making Romeo & Juliet a must see for all performing arts fans. Ballet Arizona has announced the Ballet Arizona Book Club, a free and open-to-the-public online event to build community and appreciation for dance. The quarterly book club, hosted on Zoom, will feature popular titles relating to dance facilitated by Ballet Arizona Education and Community Engagement Manager, Alexandra Papazian.
Ballet Arizona Announces 2020 Open Audition Dates
Ballet Arizona is delighted to announce its upcoming open audition dates for 2020. The company is searching for talented dancers of all ages to fill trainee, apprentice and company positions, as well as studio company dancers under the age of 21. Auditions are slated to take place in Los Angeles, New York City and Phoenix.
