Arizona Theatre Company Adds Widely Acclaimed LA ESQUINITA, USA to 50th Anniversary Season

Due to artist scheduling conflicts, Arizona Theatre Company has added acclaimed actor/playwright Ruben C. Gonzalez' one-man tour de force La Esquinita, USA to the 2016-17 50th anniversary season and rescheduled Marisela Treviño Orta's The River Bride to 2017-18. La Esquinita, USA will run in Tucson from Jan. 14 to Feb. 4, 2017 and in Phoenix from Feb. 2-26, the same dates as the postponed The River Bride.

BUILDING BRIDGES Gala Celebration Announces 2016 Lineup

The Bridge Initiative hosts Building Bridges, a cocktail gala celebration featuring performances, food, drink, a silent auction (items for bid include tickets to other performing arts organizations, tickets to Cactus Bowl, AZ State Park membership, Preferred Hotels vacation packages, and more), and a chance to interface with the community. Funds raised will finance future Bridge Initiative programming, including a new play development week in February.

AZ Opera's Rusalka Presents Magical Version of LITTLE MERMAID

Dark forests, woodland sprites and an evil witch, 'Jezibaba' come to the Arizona Opera stage as the company presents its first ever production of Dvo?ak's Rusalka.  The story follows the classic Hans Christian Andersen fairytale 'Little Mermaid' with dramatic flair as the mermaid Rusalka seeks to be part of the human world.  This new production will be set in the Habsburg Empire of the 1800s and features the show-stopping aria, 'Song to the Moon'.  Rusalka is sung in Czech with English supertitles.
Space 55 Performs DEMDIKES DEVILS for Halloween Season

In 1612, ten women were hung for the crime of murder by witchcraft, but were they guilty or innocent?  Space 55, the home for new, innovative and affordable theater,  brings the haunting show, DemDikes Devils, just in time for Halloween. Performances of DemDikes Devils will be held on the weekends from October 14 to October 28 with showtimes on Friday and Saturday Nights at 8 pm and Sundays at 5 pm.

His death made a spectacle by a less-than-kind coroner, Liberace takes the stage once more to explain and defend his life decisions with compassion and grace.

'The Last Five Years' is told through the eyes of Jamie Wellerstein, a novelist, and Cathy Hiatt, an aspiring actress.
