Video Sneak Peek: RENT Manila In Rehearsals

It would be perfect for any new production of Jonathan Larson's phenomenal rock musical RENT to open during the Christmas holidays: The show, set on a cold December night in the big city, aptly raises its curtain with the entire cast celebrating New Year's Eve and lifelong friendships.

Alas, theater fans in Manila will have to wait until February for 9 Works Theatrical's new production of RENT to officially open.

But good thing, RENT Manila February 6 show owner, Our Awesome Planet (www.OurAwesomePlanet.com), paid a visit to the rehearsals on December 17 and took a video clip that shows stage director Robbie Guevara presenting his cast and the "Finale B" number.

RENT in Manila features Gian Magdangal as Roger, Fred Lo as Mark, Nicole Asensio and Cara Barredo as Mimi, Job Bautista as Angel, OJ Mariano as Collins, Carla Guevara-Laforteza as Maureen, Jenny Villegas as Joanne and Noel Rayos as Benny. The ensemble includes Raul Montesa, Guji Lorenzana, Gary Junsay, Johann de la Fuente, Anna Santamaria, Ring Antonio, Peachy Atilano and swing Harold Cruz.
