Lyric Opera of Chicago has announced the company’s 2023/24 Season, which takes audiences on a global tour of opera featuring a richly curated slate of musical events in six different languages.

AIDA, the musical by Elton John and Tim Rice has been reworked and updated, and the world premiere is set for 23 April 2023 in the AFAS Circustheater in Scheveningen. Check out an all new behind the scenes video, featuring a first listen to 'Easy As Life'!

Rigoletto goes on stage on Friday, April 22 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 24 at 2 p.m and will feature the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, the Opera Orlando Chorus, and dancers from Orlando Ballet.

MOT Studio Artists (soprano Avery Boettcher and tenor Edward Graves) sing the Brindisi (the drinking song) from Giuseppe Verdi's 'La Traviata,' accompanied by members of the Michigan Opera Theatre Orchestra.

Baritone Ambrogio Maestri brings his larger-than-life portrayal of the title role back for the first time since his Met role debut in the 2013-14 season. Robert Carsen's insightful production-which moves the action to postwar England in the 1950s-features an exceptional cast that includes soprano Ailyn Pérez as Alice Ford and soprano Golda Schultz as Nannetta.

Verdi's tragic jester returns in Michael Mayer's neon-bedecked, Las Vegas-themed production. Baritones Roberto Frontali and George Gagnidze share the title role, and soprano Nadine Sierra reprises her portrayal of Gilda, the role that helped launch her now-blossoming Met career. Tenors Vittorio Grigolo and Bryan Hymel share the role of the lascivious Duke, and Nicola Luisotti conducts.

Yannick Nezet-Seguin conducts Michael Mayer's richly textured new production, featuring a dazzling 19th-century setting that changes with the seasons. Soprano Diana Damrau plays the tragic heroine, Violetta, and tenor Juan Diego Florez returns to the Met for the first time since 2015 to sing the role of Alfredo, Violetta's hapless lover. Baritone Quinn Kelsey is Alfredo's father, Germont, who destroys their love. Later performances feature Anita Hartig, Stephen Costello, Artur Ruci?ski, and Placido Domingo.

110 years after the inauguration of the current building of the Teatro Colon, the opera with which its curtain ran for the first time was re-released: Aida. The emblematic title of the great Giuseppe Verdi, in which he opts for all his experience in operatic matters, tells the story of the Ethiopian slave that Radames, the captain of Pharaoh's guard, falls in love with. Torn between his loyalty to the country and the dictates of his heart, he must also deal with the desire of Amneris, the daughter of Pharaoh, who professes an unrequited love. The setting of the remembered Roberto Oswald will be the setting of this great show that will dazzle for its visual display and the power of music.
