Today we rewind to 2018, when Gavin Lee was stepping into the role of the Grinch on its 2018 tour, where it played the Theater at Madison Square Garden, Chicago Theatre, and more.

The musical will star Broadway performers Gavin Lee and Kerry Butler, along with a host of other stars.

Just last night, Manhattan Concert Productions presented a 50th Anniversary Celebration of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at David Geffen Hall, Lincoln Center. Michael Arden (Stage Director) and Stephen Oremus (Music Director) lead this one-night-only performance, featuring a chorus of over 300 singers from across the United States, professional cast and creative team, and the New York City Chamber Orchestra.

On Saturday, January 25th, Walt Disney World Resort in Florida featured a special livestream presentation of the Disney on Broadway Concert Series, featuring performances by Broadway stars Alton Fitzgerald ('The Lion King'), Kissy Simmons ('The Lion King'), Heidi Blickenstaff ('The Little Mermaid') and Gavin Lee ('Mary Poppins').

Disney World is presenting a Disney on Broadway concert series during Epcot International Festival of the Arts this month. The series kicked off this weekend and you can check out a video from Gavin Lee and Heidi Blickenstaff's performance!

Earlier this week, The Actors Fund in association with Universal Theatrical Group and Margaret Styne presented a one-night only concert of the holiday classic Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol. The evening was directed by Carl Andress with choreography by Nathan Peck, based on original choreography by Marcos Santana. Grammy Award® and Emmy Award®-winner John McDaniel wrote new orchestrations for the score and served at the evening's music director, conducting a 28 piece on stage orchestra.

This past Thursday at Broadway Sessions we took a trip down memory lane to Bikini Bottom at our Spongebob Cast Reunion Show! It was a joy to have the gang all back together as we all reminisced and naturally, hilarity ensued. Our wonderful lineup included Lauralyn McClelland, Kyle Matthew Hamilton, Danny Skinner & Ethan Slater, Robert Taylor Jr., Gavin Lee, Kelvin Moon Loh, Tina Landau, with special guests Marty Thomas, Finn Douglas, and Rising Star Catie Pires Fernandes. What a fun way to gear up for the HIGHLY anticipated Spongebob broadcast on Nickelodeon last week! 

This past Saturday was the best day ever because Nickelodeon aired The Spongebob Musical: Live on Stage, a filmed version of the Broadway musical, which reunited members of the original cast. The cast of The SpongeBob Musical: Live On Stage! spun a wheel and sang all of the classic songs from the television series, including F.U.N., Sweet Victory, Striped Sweater, Krusty Krab Pizza, and more!

Tina Landau and Ethan Slater are going to have the best day ever on December 7. That's because, following a critically lauded run on Broadway, The SpongeBob Musical: Live On Stage!, will simulcast across Nickelodeon, TeenNick and Nicktoons.

Last night, the cast of Spongebob Squarepants took the stage at the Kids Choice Awards!

As BroadwayWorld reported earlier this week, Spongebob SquarePants is officially going on tour, as Las Vegas's The Smith Center for the Performing Arts announced the production as part of its 2019-2020 season. In honor of the ocassion, we're throwing it back to the show's Broadway rehearsals in October 2017 with Ethan Slater, Gavin Lee, and more! With Mary Poppins Returns coming to movie theaters in a week, I thought the perfect  #TBT would be a look back at the Opening Night of Mary Poppins on Broadway. So I dove back into the BroadwayWorld archives and found the 2006 video (when we were formerly known as BroadwayBeat) with Ashley Brown, straight from starring as 'Belle' Beauty and the Beast on Broadway!
