This afternoon, the company of Waitress on Broadway gathered on the stage of Broadway’s Barrymore Theatre to commemorate a Mayoral Proclamation declaring Friday, September 17, “Nick Cordero Day” in New York City. 

After a year and a half without Broadway, Waitress fans will get a rare chance to revisit their favorite musical- they'll just have to travel across the street for it. A limited engagement begins performances at The Ethel Barrymore Theatre on September 2, where it will run through January 9, 2022.

We all know that February is Black History Month, but did we all take a moment to reflect and celebrate? Well we did just that, Broadway-style, at Sessions on February 23rd. Not only did we invite a starry roster of Broadway's best and brightest to share music representing the influence, importance and impact of African American legacy on Broadway, but we also paid homage to some Broadway trailblazers like Diahann Carroll, Ben Vereen, "Stokes" and more. We even challenged our audience to "name that African American Tony winner," which of course gave us the opportunity to bask in the glorious voices of Melba Moore, Hinton Battle, Heather Headley, Ted Ross, Jennifer Holiday and many more. Check out these amazing performances by Aisha de Haas, Kenita Miller, Daisy Hobbs, Imari Hardon, Zurin Villanueva, Ta'Rea Campbell, Marcus Paul James, Nora Schell, T. Cast members from Waitress served up sweet slices of song at Broadway Sessions recently. Alicia Keys, Sondheim and of course, Bareilles were on the menu. Cast members Charity Angel Dawson, Henry Gottfried, Thay Flood, Aisha Jackson, Ryan Vasquez and Olivia Lucy Phillip poured their hearts out in song and even explored some of the audience's most nightmarish real life 'waitress experiences' (with dramatic underscoring by musical genius Joshua Stephen Kartes). The evening also featured performances by vocalists Esteban Suero, Lexi Lyric and the Voices of Gotham barbershop chorus. NOM NOM NOM...

The best of Broadway will be performing FREE on six consecutive Thursdays this summer with '106.7 LITE FM's Broadway in Bryant Park 2016, continuing this Thursday, July 28 (12:30pm) on the Bryant Park Stage. Hosted by LITE FM's on-air personalities, the 16th annual presentation of open-air, On- and Off- Broadway lunch hour performances will run through Thursday, August 11. This year's 106.7 LITE FM'S Broadway in Bryant Park is presented by New York-Presbyterian for Kids and TKTS Discount Ticketing Booth.

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University, under the leadership of Artistic Director Diane Paulus presents the world premiere musical Waitress. Based on the motion picture written by Adrienne Shelly the new musical has a book by Jessie Nelson, music and lyrics by Sara Bareilles, direction by Diane Paulus, and choreography by Chase Brock.
