On Friday night Vice President-elect Pence, paid a visit to Broadway's revolutionary mega-hit, Hamilton and he received a less than enthusiastic reception. HAMILTON's Brandon Victor Dixon discussed Vice President elect Mike Pence's recent controversial visit to the Broadway musical, and responded to critics who believe that the statements made by the cast following the show, may not have been the right and place to be made. 

At last night's AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS, Idina Menzel, Keke Palmer and Donnie Wahlberg weighed in on an incident which took place at the November 18th evening performance of Broadway's HAMILTON

Current Vice President-elect, Michael Pence, paid a visit to Broadway's revolutionary mega-hit, 'Hamilton' this evening and reports from inside the theater confirm a less than enthusiastic reception for the former governor of Indiana.

Tony nominee Brandon Victor Dixon, who currently takes on the role of Aaron Burr in the smash Broadway hit HAMILTON, stopped by MTV's The People's Playhouse around midnight last night to perform 'We Are.'

Chita Rivera's landmark concert CHITA: NOWADAYS will arrive at Carnegie Hall on Monday, November 7 (8PM), marking the the first time the Broadway legend will headline the iconic venue. The two-time Tony Award winner will also welcome previously-announced guests Alan Cumming, Andy Karl, Javier Muñoz and Brandon Victor Dixon, the new stars of Hamilton on Broadway; and New York City Gay Men's Chorus.

It's been a busy week for Broadway's Brandon Victor Dixon as he takes over the role of Aaron Burr in Lin-Manuel Miranda's revolutionary smash, HAMILTON.

This week, 'Hamilton' actor, Daniel J. Watts, 'Shuffle Along' Tony- nominee, Brandon Victor Dixon, and 'Motown' actor, Warren Adams, partnered up to organize 'Broadway Circle Up- This Is How We Shoot Back' a video project that saw more than 100 members of the Broadway community meeting under the lights of the Minskoff Theatre to raise their voices in protest of the continuous cycle of prejudice and violence toward black citizens.

Last night he brought the Ellis Island audience to its feet with his performance as Coalhouse Walker, Jr. in Ragtime, and now he is gearing up for a new role. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, just weeks after finishing his run in SHUFFLE ALONG, two-time Tony Award nominee Brandon Victor Dixon will join the cast of HAMILTON as Aaron Burr later this month. Ellis Island got a little more Broadway last night, as Ragtime was presented in an  invitation-only, one-night-only event, narrated by two-time Tony Award winner and original Ragtime Broadway cast member Brian Stokes Mitchell. The concert starred  two-time Tony Award nominee Brandon Victor Dixon (Shuffle Along, Motown) as Coalhouse Walker Jr., Olivier Award winner Laura Michelle Kelly (Finding Neverland, Mary Poppins) as Mother, Emmy Award winner Michael Park(Dear Evan Hansen, Tuck Everlasting) as Father, acclaimed stage and television star Andy Mientus (Spring Awakening, Les Miserables) as Younger Brother, Shaina Taub (Hadestown, Old Hats) as Emma Goldman, Aisha Jackson (Waitress, Beautiful) as Sarah, and Robert Petkoff (All The Way,Ragtime) reprising his 2009 Broadway revival role of Tateh.

To commemorate the departure of three of the show's leads, the production broadcast the curtain call on Facebook Live to more than 30,000 live viewers. Featured in the curtain call? The WEST WING theme song.

A re-imagined version of the 1921 musical SHUFFLE ALONG, one of the earliest stage hits starring, written and directed by African-Americans, opened on April 28 on Broadway at the Music Box Theatre. The musical nabbed a total of 10 Tony nominations this year, including nods for Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, Best Featured Actor and Actress, Best Scenic Design, Best Costume Design, Best Lighting Design, Best Direction, Best Choreography and Best Orchestrations.
