Photos & Video: Broadway's Return Continues Disney-Style with Live at The New Am: A Benefit Concert for The Actors Fund

Last night, Broadway’s New Amsterdam Theatre reopened with Live at The New Am: A Benefit Concert for The Actors Fund, marking one of the first events on Broadway since the shutdown and the first Broadway performance to hire actors on an Equity contract, the union of Broadway performers. VIDEO: Ashley Park Joins in R&H Goes Pop with 'Do-Re-Mi'

The Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization today released the sixth music video in their YouTube Series, 'R&H Goes Pop!' The video features Ashley Park (Mean Girls, Rodgers & Hammerstein's The King and I), putting a contemporary spin on the classic tune 'Do-Re-Mi' from The Sound of Music.

Broadway's Mean Girls and Atlantic Records have released the official music video for 'I'd Rather Be Me' from the award-winning hit musical featuring Barrett Wilbert Weed, who currently performs as Janis Sarkisian in the show.  The video had its exclusive premiere yesterday via Rolling Stone, who called it both 'empowering' and 'uplifting.'  'I'd Rather Be Me' is featured on the 'Mean Girls Original Cast Recording,' out now.  The 'Mean Girls Original Cast Recording,' was produced by Jeff Richmond, Nell Benjamin, Tina Fey, Mary-Mitchell Campbell and Lorne Michaels and co-produced by Pete Ganbarg, Craig Rosen and John Clancy.

The 2004 film "Mean Girls" was written by Tina Fey. Now a Broadway musical version of the film has earned a whopping 12 Tony nominations. Fey tells TODAY that she was at the gym when she got the news, and "I started crying in the middle of Equinox." More on this story here.
