Lil & Louis Armstrong Come to Life in Sarasota

RhinoFest, Curious Theatre Branch and B Mor Productions are proud to partner on the premiere of WHOA MAN, a one-woman show by Briana Morris on February 22 at 2pm & February 23 at 7pm. In this one woman show, WHOA MAN, Briana Morris dreads turning 30 and celebrating her milestone birthday, so she turns to the women in her family to help resolve this quarter life crisis.

London Classic Theatre today celebrate 20 years as an unsubsidised, independent production company working in the UK and Ireland. Since 2000 the company has transitioned from one of the success stories of the London Fringe to its current position as one of the UK's leading touring companies, producing 41 tours and visiting over 250 venues. Today the company announces their 2020 season.

Michelle Collins will play Meg Boles, Tristan Gemmill will play Goldberg and Paul Hickey will play McCann in a national UK tour of Harold Pinter's comedy of menace which will receive a dramatic new re-imagining from the team behind Waiting for Godot. Following a two-year celebration of the works of Harold Pinter in the West End, this is Pinter's most popular and widely performed play. Further casting will be announced in due course.

Opera Ithaca has announced that it has been awarded a $45,000 grant over two years from the New York State Council on the Arts and Regional Economic Development Council to amplify and diversify the Apprentice Artist Program. The company is looking forward to welcoming its first class in the revised program starting with the upcoming 2020-2021 season.

Taylor Mac will premiere new play, The Fre, at off-Broadway venue The Flea. The Flea's Artistic Director and frequent Taylor Mac collaborator, Niegel Smith will direct. It has been revealed that the play takes place in a giant ball pit, with audience seating inside and out. The play is appropriate for a?oeall agesa??. 

Toronto's Dora Award winning musical theatre company, ECLIPSE THEATRE COMPANY (ETC), created by Chilina Kennedy and Evan Tsitsias, proudly presents an innovative and site responsive performance of SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE. The production will be directed by Evan Tsitsias, and star Evan Buliung and Tess Benger, for 8 performances only, and presented at the Jam Factory in Toronto, March 3 - 8, 2020.

A brand new production of the classic thriller, Dial M for Murder, tours the UK in 2020 opening at Richmond Theatre on Monday 13th January 2020. The genre-defining thriller - based on Frederick Knott's stage and screen play, made world-famous by Hitchcock's iconic 1954 film - will be directed by Anthony Banks.

Casting has been announced for Quality Street, Laurie Sansom's debut production as Artistic Director of Northern Broadsides. The production, a rare revival of J.M. Barrie's farce, will open in February 2020 in Halifax, the home of Quality Street the UK's most popular brand of chocolates. Barrie's play was so popular in its day that it gave the chocolates their name.

TV regular Rupert Hill (Casualty, BBC; Coronation Street, ITV) will star alongside Phoebe Marshall (Witness for the Prosecution, London County Hall) in a sensual new stage adaptation of D.H. Lawrence's controversial masterpiece, Lady Chatterley's Lover, directed by Ciaran McConville (The Snow Queen, The Creature [Frankenstein Retold], Rose Theatre Kingston) as part of a UK tour.

The 2019 Edinburgh Festival smash-hit, Friendsical, returns to the stage in 2020 on an extensive UK tour, opening at the Churchill Theatre, Bromley on 20 February.

Kingston's Rose Theatre always goes all-out for their Christmas production. After last year's huge success with Hansel And Gretel, writer and director Ciaran McConville turns his hand to another Hans Christian Andersen tale with The Snow Queen.

Six months of 2020 touring dates have been announced for Blackeyed Theatre's epic international tour of Nick Lane's thrilling new adaptation of Charlotte Brontë's masterpiece Jane Eyre. This spectacular world premiere is touring until June 2020, and will make its way across the UK, including a return home to the Yorkshire moors, as well as The Netherlands and China.

Untitled Theater Company No. 61 (UTC61) presents a new play by Edward Einhorn about his grandfather, Alexander S. Wiener, who discovered the Rh Factor in Blood. Told through the lens of interviews with his mother, Jane Einhorn, a PhD psychologist and visual artist who had recently experienced a stroke at the time of the interviews. The play uses a mixture of verbatim/found text and invented dialogue to examine Wiener's legacy, both scientific and familial. How does it change your life to have a world famous father...or grandfather? How does that legacy continue through the generations?

Today, The Watermill Theatre announces the appointment of four new Associate Directors as part of its Associate Artist Programme. The four emerging directors have been selected to work with the producing theatre to develop their skills and build experience as they embark on the next phase of their careers. Under the guidance of Artistic Director Paul Hart, each will take on roles ranging from Assistant Directorships to fully directing productions, all with the aim of nurturing their talents and extending their knowledge. These new appointments are a part of The Watermill's continued commitment to supporting emerging theatre-makers and nurturing the talent of the future.

Out of Joint, Cast, Doncaster and Kiln Theatre, London announced to today that star of Coronation Street and Emmerdale and respected stage actor Bill Ward will lead the cast of their national tour and London run of The Glee Club. Fresh from playing Hugo / Loco Chanelle in the West End hit Everybody's Talking About Jamie, Ward will take on the role of Bant in this new production of Richard Cameron's play to be directed by Out Of Joint's artistic director Kate Wasserberg.
