Due to COVID-19 concerns, WICKED performances at Playhouse Square tonight December 20, and tomorrow Dec 21 have been canceled.

This evening, Wicked on Broadway, will welcome actor Jordan Barrow to its principal cast in the role of Boq. The role marks Barrow's Broadway debut, as well as the first Black actor to play the role in North America.  

Thank goodness! Brittney Johnson will take over the role of Glinda in Wicked on Broadway, beginning performances on February 14, 2022 at Broadway's Gershwin Theatre. Currently the Glinda standby, Ms. Johnson will be the first Black actress to assume the role of Glinda.

According to the production's social media, 'Tonight’s performance of WICKED is being cancelled due to the detection of a limited number of positive COVID test results combined with previously scheduled absences in the company....'

During an appearnace on The Tonight Show, Kristin Chenoweth commented on the recent news that Ariana Grande would be playing Glinda in the new film adaption of Wicked. When asked about the possibility of making a cameo in the film, Chenoweth shared her idea of how she and original Elphaba Idina Menzel should make an appearance in the film.

The Kansas City Broadway Series has announced the three-week engagement of the Broadway musical sensation, WICKED. The national tour of WICKED will take the Music Hall stage from January 5–23, 2022.

Broadway is back at the Fox Cities P.A.C. and with it comes a boost to the economy to the tune of $13.4 million.
