The Spire Center for the Arts in Plymouth, MA announced four new shows including a Comedy Night featuring Boston native Tony V on Friday, October 6, singer-songwriter Beth Nielsen Chapman on Friday, November 17,  blues musician James Montgomery on Saturday, November 25, and the iconic Celtic group Cherish the Ladies: performing A Celtic Christmas on Friday, December 15.

Mercury Nashville / Range Music recording artist Luke Grimes today released a new version of, “Hold On,” which also features Irish singer-songwriter Foy Vance, a co-writer on the track. Produced by Dave Cobb, the song was written by Vance and Ilsey Juber.

The album was conceived following Chris Turpin and Stephanie Jean discovering she was pregnant while on tour with Willie Nelson and Lucinda Williams in San Francisco. They teamed with longtime collaborators Ethan Johns, who contributed drums on the album, and bassist Nick Pini (Laura Marling, Nick Mulvey), to record the album in just 7 days. 

The acclaimed Hawai`i-born `ukulele player Jake Shimabukuro will release Grateful, his most personal project to-date, featuring twenty-two collaborations with a who’s who of Hawai`i-based artists, from Henry Kapono to Kawika Kahiapo, Brother Noland to Raiatea Helm, Justin Kawika Young to Del Beazley and John Cruz to Kimié Miner.

Inspired by a piece of vinyl artwork of Joni Mitchell's Clouds hanging in Dailey's home studio, the piece hung in his teenage bedroom and has been with him since. Dailey’s new song, “Cover of Clouds,” is a 7 minute long love letter to Joni Mitchell, the cover image and her reign in Dailey’s consciousness from the first time he picked up a guitar.

As they dreamed up a batch of songs firmly centered on their storytelling, the band joined forces with Brad Cook (Bon Iver, Hiss Golden Messenger, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Waxahatchee), a producer whose distinct vision helped SCI to fully embrace the album’s rootsy simplicity. Check out the tour dates!
