PBS has announced the broadcast of WHITNEY HOUSTON – THE CONCERT FOR A NEW SOUTH AFRICA (DURBAN) on December 1, 2024. The remastered 1994 concert will air on PBS stations and be available on PBS Passport.

BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that Grammy Award-winning singer and mother of the late Whitney Houston, Cissy Houston, has passed away. She was 91 years old.

On Sept. 22, the woman behind the scintillating vocals to one of music’s most timeless and moving classics, “What the World Needs Now,” took the stage at Bell Theater in New Jersey with a stellar lineup of musical guests to perform the song live as a culmination of a namesake tribute concert that paid homage to her life and musical legacy.

Florida Studio Theatre (FST) is taking audiences on a nostalgic musical journey, with Off the Charts, an original cabaret of jukebox pop favorites by Rebecca Hopkins and Richard Hopkins & Sarah Durham with musical arrangements by Jim Prosser. The world premiere of NOW That's What I Call A Musical, a brand-new British musical written by award-winning comedian Pippa Evans and directed and choreographed by Craig Revel Horwood, is coming to Milton Keynes this November.
