Theatrical Outfit Announces 2019-2020 Season - INDECENT, OUR TOWN, and More!

Theatrical Outfit, Atlanta's second-oldest professional theatre, proudly announces its 2019-2020 Season, which also marks the final season under the leadership of Artistic Director Tom Key. The season promises to be a powerful representation of the kind of work Key loves to produce at the theatre's home in the heart of downtown Atlanta:

MRT Presents CRY IT OUT

Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) will present Molly Smith Metzler's Cry It Out, an insightful comedy about the absurdities of being a new mom, as the final show of its 40th Anniversary Season, from April 24 to May 19, directed by Amanda Charlton at the Nancy L. Donahue Theatre at Liberty Hall, according to Artistic Director Sean Daniels and Executive Director Bonnie J. Butkas.

Two Plays Added To The Blank Theatre's Living Room Series

Two new plays have been added to The Blank Theatre's Living Room Series schedule. The Good Samaritan by Wendy McLeod, directed by Sylvia Cervantes Blush, will be presented on Monday, April 1, at 8pm and The Calm Before by Deborah Yarchun, directed by Warren Davis, will be presented on Monday, April 8, at 8pm. Performances are at The Blank's 2nd Stage Theatre, 6500 Santa Monica Boulevard (at Wilcox), in Hollywood, 90038.

Arizona Theatre Company Completes 2019/20 Schedule With THE ROYALE And WOMEN IN JEOPARDY

Arizona Theatre Company (Sean Daniels, Artistic Director; Billy Russo, Managing Director) has announced that the final two plays for the 2019/20 season are Marco Ramirez' riveting The Royale, inspired by the real-life experiences of Jack Johnson, the first African-American heavyweight world champion, and Wendy MacLeod's riotous comedy, Women in Jeopardy!

Merrimack Repertory Theatre Summer Registration Now Open For Teens

Registration is now open for the MRT Young Company summer program, a professional theatre training program for high school students, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for three weeks, July 15 to August 2, in downtown Lowell. Nationally recognized creative producer, director, and performer Will Rogers will return to lead the program.

We've all been there, sitting in a restaurant, starving, and waiting what seems like eons before the waiter sashays over to introduce himself. "Hello, I'm Bryce - like the Canyon - and I'll be taking care of you." This is the premise and the situation for the couple having a bad first day on their anniversary trip to Palm Springs. Their gratification is seriously delayed, but we get 95 minutes of delicious comedy.

Red Bull Theater Opens Submissions for Ninth Annual Short New Play Festival

Red Bull Theater today announced that their ninth annual festival of 10-minute plays of heightened language and classic themes will feature two brand new commissions from Kia Corthron and Will Power, alongside six brand new plays chosen from hundreds of submissions from playwrights across the country. Merrimack Repertory Theatre Selected For $450,000 Grant

We are pleased to announce that Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) was selected to participate in the Barr-Klarman Massachusetts Arts Initiative - as announced earlier today on The Barr Foundation's blog. A partnership between two Boston-based foundations - Barr and The Klarman Family Foundation - the initiative is a $25 million, six-year investment in 29 arts and cultural organizations from across Massachusetts. Participating organizations receive flexible, multi-year operating support grants, in addition to training and technical assistance from TDC, a nonprofit consulting and research firm. MRT's engagement in the initiative begins with two grants totaling $450,000 from Barr and the Klarman Family Foundation over three years - making it the largest foundation or government grant in the theatre's 40-year history.
