National New Play Network (NNPN), the country's alliance of professional theaters that collaborate in innovative ways to develop, produce, and extend the life of new plays, has added three new Core Members: Silk Road Rising (Chicago), Company One (Boston), and City Theatre Company (Pittsburgh). As of the date of this release, NNPN has 114 Members Theaters, comprised of 32 Cores and 82 Associates.

September 12, Karen Zacarias' topical comedy Native Gardens will kick off a season of cutting-edge contemporary voices, including three world premieres and five plays by women, in celebration of Merrimack Repertory Theatre's 40th Anniversary, according to Artistic Director Sean Daniels and Executive Director Bonnie J. Butkas.

Roger Sanders and Dana Scott Galloway present the New York premiere of The Klunch's production of LAURA BUSH KILLED A GUY by Ian Allen. Directed by John Vreeke, the production stars Lisa Hodsoll, who received a 2018 Helen Hayes Award nomination for her portrayal of the former First Lady in the acclaimed Washington DC premiere. Previews begin June 14 at The Flea Theater with opening night slated for Thursday, June 21.

Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) is thrilled to have raised $110,000 for its signature education programs Student Matinees and Young Company during its 39th Anniversary Gala on June 2, 2018, in Lowell. This is the most raised for education programs at the Gala in the last three years.

However, when they bring Liz's teenage daughter Amanda into it, along with her spaced-out boyfriend Trenner, things go from humorously tricky to hilariously complex.
