Vs. Theatre Company & Circle X Theatre Co. will present the West Coast premiere of a new play, STAND UP IF YOU’RE HERE TONIGHT.

The 5th Avenue Theatre has announced that The Lamplighter, a new musical with a book by Sara Porkalob, music and lyrics by Justin Huertas, and story by Kirsten “Kiki” deLohr Helland, Huertas, and Porkalob, concludes the trio of Musical Radio Plays it will produce in its 2020/21 digital season.

National New Play Network has announced the winner of the 2021 Smith Prize for Political Theater: Bernardo Cubría. His play The Giant Void in my Soul was nominated for Best Playwright at the 2018 Ovation Awards, Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Awards, and The Stage Raw Awards.

A virtual 25th Birthday Celebration, featuring 25 monologues by 25 playwrights including Boni B. Alvarez, Bekah Brunstetter, Jessica Goldberg, Hilly Hicks Jr., David Ives, David Lindsay-Abaire and Sarah Ruhl, performed by actors such as Enrico Colantoni, Marin Hinkle, Brent Jennings, Megan Ketch, Hamish Linklater and James Tupper, will take place on Thursday, July 1.

Sketchworks Comedy, Atlanta's award-winning live sketch comedy company, has announced dates, and is accepting submissions, for their sketch comedy festival - ATL SketchFest. The 3 night event will take place Thursday, September 23, Friday, September 24, and Saturday, September 25 at The Village Theatre.

Village Theatre today announced its return to the Mainstage with a 2022 Season of live theatre at both its Issaquah and Everett locations. The 2022 Welcome Back Season provides an opportunity to slowly reintroduce aspects of the live theatre-going experience that Village Theatre patrons know and love.

Queens Theatre will host a second series of AAPI Healing Circle virtual spaces, starting in June and through this summer. The AAPI Healing Circle sessions, open to all individuals who identify as part of the AAPI community, will be held every other Monday at 7pm ET from June 14 to August 23.

THE SPOTLIGHT SERIES, a bi-monthly live streamed concert series created by A LITTLE NEW MUSIC will  “spotlight” the dynamic music of composer/lyricist Zoe Sarnak, on June 1st.

Abingdon Theatre Company has announced three new Artists in Residence for their upcoming 29th Season beginning in the fall. Christine Toy Johnson, Ilda Mason and Matthew McLachlan are set to be the next participants in the Carolyn Halpert Artist in Residence Program which began in 2017.

New York Theatre Barn will host a free live stream of its award-winning New Works Series on Wednesday, May 12th, 2021 at 7PM EST, featuring excerpts from the new musicals Hart Island and Cowboy Bob. The live 1-hour presentation will also feature a conversation with the writers and creative team. 

The Segal Centre for Performing Arts will welcome back audiences to the theatre with Every Brilliant Thing by Duncan Macmillan with Johnny Donahoe.

Abingdon Theatre Company will present a short film of 'Empress Mei Li Lotus Blossom' written and directed by Christine Toy Johnson followed by a talk back with the writer and cast, moderated by Reggie Lee on May 25th at 7pm ET. This event is free. This piece is being screened in May to Celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

The Dramatists Guild of America has announced that Amanda Green has been elected to be their incoming Council President succeeding outgoing President Doug Wright. She will be the first woman president in the Guild’s 100-year history.

Amid the rise in violence against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) in the city and across the country, Queens Theatre is launching the AAPI Healing Circle.
