Today, the full list of nominees for the “53rd NAACP Image Awards” were announced. Nominees included Ariana DeBose, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Encanto, Cynthia Erivo, Audra McDonald, Respect, Taraji P. We've got all this year's SAG nominees to prepare you for the awards on February 27. The 2022 Screen Actors Guild Award nominations included Andrew Garfield for tick, tick...BOOM!, Ariana DeBose for West Side Story, and Cynthia Erivo for Genius: Aretha.

Rufus John, award-winning Black Caribbean-Canadian R&B/ Soul singer & songwriter is gearing up to release the single, Freedom Marching (Part I). The song will be available for pre-order on January 10th, 2022, and will be featured on the 3-song EP, The Freedom Marching Project, which is slated to be released on February 4th, 2022.  

Kicking off the month on January 1st is the 1945 musical comedy film Ziegfeld Follies, featuring Fred Astaire, Lucille Ball, Gene Kelly, Judy Garland, Fanny Brice, Lena Horne and more. The How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying film, based on the musical of the same name, is set to debut on January 4th.

Films such as West Side Story, tick, tick...BOOM!, Cyrano, Encanto, and In the Heights were recognized this morning by the Hollywood Foreign Press. Nominees also included Peter Dinklage, Denzel Washington, Cynthia Erivo, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ewan McGregor, Uzo Aduba, Aaron Sorkin, Hannah Waddingham, Steve Martin, Martin Short, and more.

The enduring film version of Fiddler on the Roof premiered in November 1971 and became one of the year's biggest hits, earning Academy Awards for Cinematography, Sound and Best Adapted Score. The Gotham Film & Media Institute announced today that actor Peter Dinklage will receive a Performer Tribute and The Actors Fund will receive the Gotham Impact Salute during the 2021 Gotham Awards Ceremony.
