Broadway Women’s Alliance hosted a special Broadway community screening of the new film Women Talking on Monday, December 5 at 6:30 pm.

​​​​​​​Vainieri Huttle was recently elected chair of its board of trustees—the first woman to take that top leadership role at Bergen Performing Arts Center known at bergenPAC.

The nominations were announced live from Cipriani Wall Street by Emmy-nominated star of Pose and American Horror Story on FX, and now as Roxie Hart in Chicago on Broadway, Angelica Ross. Ross was joined by Jeffrey Sharp, award-winning film producer and the Executive Director of The Gotham.

The Tank will present Immense Joy, a new work devised and directed by downtown luminary Anna Kohler in collaboration with performers Natalia de Campos, Justin Gordon, John Hagan, Fabio Tavares, and associate director Caleb Hammond. The performances run from September 8 through 18, 2022.

The world premiere production of HIGH NOON, based on the iconic and beloved Academy Award-winning film of the same title will arrive on Broadway in 2023.

Till stars Danielle Deadwyler (Mamie Till Mobley), Jalyn Hall (Emmett Till), Frankie Faison (John Carthan), Haley Bennett (Carolyn Bryant), Sean Patrick Thomas (Gene Mobley), John Douglas Thompson (Moses Wright) and Whoopi Goldberg (Alma Carthan). Till is an emotional and cinematic film about the story of Mamie Till Mobley’s pursuit of justice.

Don Graham, a music promotion pioneer who started his lengthy career in the early days of Warner Bros. Records, A&M, Blue Thumb, and United Artists in the 1960s, died Thursday evening, July 7, 2022 of stomach cancer at the age of 87.  He was surrounded by his family.

The debut novel is semi-autobiographical, inspired by the childhood of Shawn Amos, a blues musician and the son of iconic Wallace 'Wally' Amos Jr., founder of the Famous Amos chocolate chip cookie brand. The series is is in development at Disney Branded Television's animation studio, Disney Television Animation.

Last night marked the official opening of Tony Award winner Sam Gold's Macbeth on Broadway, starring Daniel Craig in his return to Broadway as Macbeth and Ruth Negga's Broadway debut as Lady Macbeth. TheatreWorks Silicon Valley will present Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner August Wilson’s sweeping drama Gem of the Ocean. This seminal classic will be directed by Artistic Director Tim Bond, a close friend of the late playwright and a leading interpreter of his work, making his TheatreWorks directorial debut with this play.

American Buffalo officially begins performances tonight, March 22, at the Circle in the Square Theatre. Opening night is set for April 14. Learn more about the cast bringing this show back to Broadway!

City Theatre Company, Pittsburgh’s home for contemporary plays, has announced the details of the theatre’s 48th season of bold, new works, beginning in September 2022. City Theatre’s second season post-pandemic shutdown will feature five plays with first-time and returning artists, plus special events.  

MGM’s Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy will receive the ICG Publicists (International Cinematographers Guild, IATSE Local 600) Motion Picture Showpersons Award at the 59th Annual Awards luncheon, it was announced today by Awards Chairs Tim Menke and Sheryl Main.

We've got all this year's SAG nominees to prepare you for the awards on February 27. The 2022 Screen Actors Guild Award nominations included Andrew Garfield for tick, tick...BOOM!, Ariana DeBose for West Side Story, and Cynthia Erivo for Genius: Aretha.

Rufus John, award-winning Black Caribbean-Canadian R&B/ Soul singer & songwriter is gearing up to release the single, Freedom Marching (Part I). The song will be available for pre-order on January 10th, 2022, and will be featured on the 3-song EP, The Freedom Marching Project, which is slated to be released on February 4th, 2022.  

Kicking off the month on January 1st is the 1945 musical comedy film Ziegfeld Follies, featuring Fred Astaire, Lucille Ball, Gene Kelly, Judy Garland, Fanny Brice, Lena Horne and more. The How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying film, based on the musical of the same name, is set to debut on January 4th.

Films such as West Side Story, tick, tick...BOOM!, Cyrano, Encanto, and In the Heights were recognized this morning by the Hollywood Foreign Press. Nominees also included Peter Dinklage, Denzel Washington, Cynthia Erivo, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ewan McGregor, Uzo Aduba, Aaron Sorkin, Hannah Waddingham, Steve Martin, Martin Short, and more.
