The Museum of Pop Culture today announced the opening of the traveling exhibition Contact High: A Visual History Of Hip-Hop.

This month, New Yorkers can enjoy more than 100 free visual art, music, dance, theater, and multidisciplinary public programs being offered by members of the New York City Artist Corps.

The play reunites the creative duo of award-winning playwright Levy Lee Simon (The Magnificent Dunbar Hotel; For the Love of Freedom: The Haitian Trilogy) and acclaimed director Ben Guillory (who is also Co-founder and Producing Artistic Director of The Robey Theatre Company).

On this day in 2014, the music and poetry of legendary rapper, Tupac Shakur, made its Broadway debut as Holler If Ya Hear Me celebrated its opening night at the Palace Theatre.

The single follows his jaw-dropping “2Pac Must Die,” in which Glasses’ tells the story of Tupac Shakur’s death from the perspective of Compton Crip gang member Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson, whom many believe shot and killed Tupac.

Ferrari Sheppard’s solo exhibition at UTA Artist Space is now open through May 15. The ambitious presentation fills all three of the gallery’s exhibition spaces with emotional portraits of influential cultural figures such as Jimi Hendrix and Tupac Shakur, as well as the artist’s friends and family.
