We caught up with composer and comedian Vikki Stone to chat about the release of her concept album #ZoologicalSociety.

#Zoological Society is a concept album set in a zoo and the story is told from the perspective of the animals. With music and lyrics by Vikki Stone, book by Vikki Stone and Katie Mulgrew and the orchestrations by Vikki Stone and Simon Nathan with the London Musical Theatre Orchestra.

Royal & Derngate today announced that it is releasing a concept album on 27 March for a new digital musical commissioned for online and social media distribution called #ZoologicalSociety and written by multi-award-winners Vikki Stone and Katie Mulgrew. The release will be launched with a live concert performance at BEAM 2020, the UK's leading showcase of new British musical theatre, taking place at Royal & Derngate. In line with the announcement, a short film by award-winning animator Tim Wheatley has been released to introduce each of the musical's characters and the album will be available to stream or to download from all leading streaming services including Spotify, Amazon and Apple alongside Royal & Derngate's website.

New casting has been announced for the multi award-winning West End production of HAMILTON as the show enters its third year at the Victoria Palace Theatre. Also announced is the release of further tickets with the show now booking in London to 28 March 2020.

Disney's hit stage musical version of ALADDIN has been filmed for a future broadcast release, according to a report in Filmed On Stage - which shared images of the filming process at the Prince Edward Theatre in London's West End.

'West End Does' has announced, following a terrifyingly terrific Halloween Concert last year at the Fortune Theatre, that 'West End Does: Halloween' is back for its second year on Sunday 27th October (2pm & 6pm). Aladdin's West End run ends tonight, August 24, after 1,361 performances at the Prince Edward Theatre. The show began performances on May 27, 2016, prior to an official opening June 15.

Disney's Aladdin marked its anniversary this week having celebrated its official opening night three years ago on 15 June 2016.
