A celebration of the life of Tony Award-winning producer and noted director Burry Fredrik (1925-2012) will be hosted by Westport Country Playhouse on Sunday, July 1, 3 p.m. The tribute will be in the campus' Lucille Lortel White Barn Center's Sheffer Rehearsal Studio, 25 Powers Court, Westport, CT. A reception will follow. Fredrik died in her Weston, Connecticut home on May 22 caused by complications from a stroke she suffered over two years ago.

According to the Daily Mail, director Matthew Warchus has left the in-the-works West End adaptation of the Oscar-winning film Shakespeare in Love. The production now begins the search for a new director.

American Players Theatre (APT) announces its 2012 Season, which will run June 9 to October 21, 2012. The season will be especially exciting to Shakespeare lovers, with the return of three Shakespeare productions in APT's 1148-seat outdoor amphitheater Up the Hill, as well as Vern Thiessen's Shakespeare's Will, about William Shakespeare's enigmatic wife Anne Hathaway, in APT's 200-seat indoor Touchstone Theatre. Additionally, APT will present a new Shakespearience festival, featuring preeminent Shakespeare scholars and special events from August 24-26, 2012.

Apart Projects presents Michael Lindsay-Hogg's inaugural solo exhibition, 'Time Alters All: A Retrospective of an Emerging Artist' curated by Price Latimer Agah. The artist, along with Town & Country Magazine, will celebrate the opening of the exhibit with a reception hosted by Shane Guffogg, Julian Sands, Jason Schwartzman, Nona Summers, Tara Summers, and Gloria Vanderbilt. Sheridan Smith will star in the Old Vic's production of HEDDA GABLER by Henrik Ibsen, in a version by Brian Friel directed by Anna Mackmin. The show begins previews on the 5th of September and opens on the 12th for a run until the 10th of Novemeber.
