Welcome to the first edition of So Now You Know! I am thrilled to have the talented and generous Nicolas King be my debut guest!!
While I've known of Nicolas's talent for several years, it wasn't until this past December that I was introduced to his kind and giving nature.
The original Sweeney Todd talks about his 60+ years on stage and breaks the news that he is cast in the new Tick, Tick... Boom! movie adaptation, being directed by Lin-Manuel Miranda!
Since 1969 Tom Selleck has electrified television audiences. From his early guest appearances on such classic television shows as Lancer and Bracken's World, to his Emmy Award-winning role as Thomas Magnum on Magnum, P.I., and his current role as Frank Reagan on Blue Bloods, Mr. Selleck has taken his place as one of television's most admired actors. On Monday, March 30, 2020, The Paley Center for Media will pay tribute to his illustrious career at The Paley Honors gala dinner where he will be presented with the Paley Award.
Though he looks fantastic with facial hair, 'Magnum P.I.' star Jay Hernandez opted not to imitate the iconic mustache worn by the man who portrayed his character in the original 'Magnum' series, Tom Selleck.
Popular crooner Nicolas King is an in demand comodity in the cabaret and concert world. With a lifelong show business career and many luminaries who have worked with him, the industrious and gifted young artist remains humble and down to earth, thanks to lessons he has learned from great teachers. Stephen Mosher tells his story, as King prepares to open a new show at The Beach Cafe in February.

The Yorkshire Ripper was convicted of killing 13 women in the late 70s and early 80s. Olivia Hirst and David Byrne's The Incident Room opens the door to this five-year-long police investigation.
Even if, like me, you have never seen an episode of the TV series, no doubt the fame of the real-life actors on the show, each of whom celebrate their fame in song during "The One Where We Make a Million Dollars an Episode," makes this show an exceedingly fun time thanks to the skill of the talented, triple-threat cast.
For those unenlightened, Jazz/Pop vocalist Nicolas King might seem like an overnight sensation. If you are new to the scene you've only recently discovered one of the most skillful and exciting male singers around. As they say in the trade, 'He's Hot'. Truth be told, Nicolas has been working and honing his amazing talent for 18 of his 27 years, and coincidently collecting many industry awards along the way. Last night at The Beach Cafe on New York's fashionable East Side, Nicolas thrilled an intimate group of sophisticated and musically astute New Yorkers who had gathered in a location that harks back to the golden age of New York City night life. Proprietor Dave Goodside has recreated the ambience of those fashionable Manhattan night spots that enticed you with good food, drink and entertainment. It may not be the 1950's El Morocco or La Martinique (and surely doesn't cost as much), but this special eventing at The Beach Cafe definitely left the Saturday late night audience feeling they were sharing that same nostalgic supper club experience listening to the romantic and Jazz infused vocals of Nicolas King.

For those of you who have never been to a production by The Florentine Players, you are in for a treat. It's small town dinner theater. The stage is located at the front of a large space filled with long tables in the Florence City Hall off State Street. At the back of the room is a canteen where you can buy popcorn, cookies, or nachos and a variety of other things. There is a beverage bar in the hallway. It's cozy. It's neighborly. And that's what makes this production of MAKING GOD LAUGH so great.

Deborah Grace Winer was certainly on the right track last night as she hosted her latest creative musical adventure 'New York: Big City Songbook' at the new Birdland Theater. Deborah is well known to New Yorkers for the imaginative and quality presentations she produced for the Lyrics & Lyricists Series at the 92Y, which she led for 9 seasons. It's difficult to construct a show for New Yorkers about New York, we've seen it all…haven't we? but this smart show with vocalists Klea Blackhurst, La Tanya Hall and Nicolas King (real New Yorkers because as Deborah pointed out they come from everywhere) offered a kaleidoscopic vision of life in the city.
