The Old Globe gives “All’s Well That Ends Well” the royal treatment with glam costumes and a game cast, but that only goes so far in distracting from the lack of romance in this romantic comedy.

Following its debut on PBS's Great Performances in May, the official proshot of Broadway's Girl From the North Country will be making its way to physical media in the UK.

Devotees of Downton Abbey may be be surprised when Hugh Bonneville pops up as title character in the Shakespeare Theatre Company’s first rate staging of Anton Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya.

Get a first look at the acclaimed adaptation by Olivier Award-winner Conor McPherson of Anton Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya starring Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey, Paddington) in the title role. Uncle Vanya is a heartbreaking comedy about the eternal battle between futility and change.

Girl From the North Country, the Tony-award winning musical featuring the songs of Bob Dylan, will be coming to PBS this May. The live capture of the Broadway musical will premiere as part of Great Performances on Friday, May 23 at 9 p.m. ET on PBS.

Conor McPherson’s 2020 revitalized translation of Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya was hailed as a breath of fresh air and this production, featuring a stellar performance by Hugh Bonneville in the titular role, feels updated, and more humorous than previous incarnations.  The pace of the drama about the ennui of provincial life, unrequited loves, middle-aged disappointments and regrets is quicker and the humor from the updated language doesn’t detract from Chekhov’s work.

As You Like It, a new miniseries adaptation of Shakespeare's comedy produced by Apocalyptic Artists Ensemble, is one of 72 projects to receive funding through the NYC Women's Fund for Media, Music and Theatre.

It follows three fictional families in pursuit of the American Dream at the turn of the 20th century: Black pianist Coalhouse Walker Jr. (Joshua Henry) and his sweetheart Sarah (Nichelle Lewis); a wealthy white family led by Mother (Caissie Levy); and Latvian immigrant Tateh (Brandon Uranowitz).
