Full Cast Announced For SWEENEY TODD Starring Josh Groban and Annaleigh Ashford

The full cast has been announced for the upcoming Broadway revival of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, starring Tony and Grammy-nominated multi-platinum recording artist Josh Groban (Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812) and Tony Award winner Annaleigh Ashford (Sunday in the Park with George).

New York Youth Symphony Musical Theater Songwriting Program Announces 2022/23 Season

New York Youth Symphony has announced its 2022/23 season of performances for its Musical Theater Songwriting program. Led by director Anna K. Jacobs, the Musical Theater Songwriting Program continues into its fifth season, in partnership with the Harlem School of the Arts and Molloy/CAP21 Theatre Arts Program.

JACK Announces New Co-Director

JACK has announced the appointment of theater director, writer, and facilitator Skye Kowaleski to join Jordana De La Cruz as Co-Director of JACK. Skye joins the team as JACK's Founder and Co-Director Alec Duffy transitions out of leadership, fulfilling his original intention to turn over the space after 10 years in order to promote the infusion of fresh energy and ideas. 

New York Youth Symphony Jazz To Perform at Times Center

New York Youth Symphony Jazz, led by Director Andy Clausen, will finish their season at The Times Center on Monday, May 9, 2022 at 7:00 PM featuring Benny Benack III as a trumpeter and Shenel Johns as a vocalist. Also, they will be performing a NYYS First Music Commission from Benjamin Morris.

American Lyric Theater to Stage Three New One-Act Operas

American Lyric Theater (ALT) announced today InsightALT: Opera in Eden, a performance featuring three new one-act operas on themes of temptation developed by Resident Artists in the company’s nationally acclaimed Composer Librettist Development Program. ALT’s current Resident Artists (Composers Jasmine Barnes, Johanny Navarro, and Alex Weiser; and Librettists Joshua Banbury, Deborah D.E.E.P. Mouton, and Marcus Yi) were selected from over 200 applicants to join the CLDP this season. Opera in Eden, which is the culminating event of the first year of these artists’ residency, will take place at National Sawdust in Brooklyn on Tuesday, May 17th, 2022 at 7:00pm.

spit&vigor Theatre Company Postpones Performances Of ECTOPLASM At The Players Theatre

Due to a positive case of Covid-19 among the cast, spit&vigor theatre company has postponed performances for their World Premiere of Ectoplasm, written and directed by Sara Fellini.
