BWW Review: THE REVENGER'S TRAGEDY, Barbican Centre

Declan Donnellan is directing his first Italian show, presenting Thomas Middleton's The Revenger's Tragedy in a bold, unabashed, sexy extravaganza of power and corruption.

Kathleen Chalfant, Robert Cuccioli and More to Take Part in Red Bull Theater's Revelation Readings

Red Bull Theater (Jesse Berger, Artistic Director | Jim Bredeson, Managing Director) today announced the cast for the next offering of their season of REVELATION READINGS, the OBIE Award-winning series: Thomas Middleton's Women Beware Women, adapted by Jesse Berger, directed by José Zayas, featuring Juliana Canfield, Kathleen Chalfant, Robert Cuccioli, Zachary Fine, Sam Lilja, Matthew Rauch, Julia McDermott, Diana Oh, Luis Quintero, Laila Robins, Derek Smith, and John Douglas Thompson. This one-night-only event will take place on Monday January 27th at 7:30pm at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, between Bleecker and Hudson Streets).

Red Bull Theater Continues the Revelation Readings with LOVE LIES A-BLEEDING

Red Bull Theater (Jesse Berger, Artistic Director | Jim Bredeson, Managing Director) today announced the cast for the next of the 2019-'20 season of REVELATION READINGS, its OBIE Award-winning series: Beaumont & Fletcher's Love Lies A-Bleeding, directed by Carl Cofield and featuring Zach Appelman, Susan Heyward, Ezra Knight, Dela Meskienyar, Howard Overshown, Bhavesh Patel, Amelia Pedlow, Cara Ricketts and more to be announced. Red Bull Theater (Jesse Berger, Artistic Director | Jim Bredeson, Managing Director) today announced the cast for the first of the 2019-'20 season of REVELATION READINGS, its OBIE Award-winning series: James Shirley's The Traitor, directed by Nathan Winkelstein, will star Oge Agulue, Keith Hamilton Cobb, Christian Coulson, Sarah Herrman, Hubert Point-Du Jour, Daniel Jose Molina, Max Gordon Moore, Nneka Okafor, Antoinette Robinson, Socorro Santiago, and more to be announced.

Barbican Theatre and Dance Announces January To August 2020 Programme

The Barbican today announces its full January to August 2020 Theatre and Dance programme in the Barbican Theatre and The Pit. Tickets go on sale to Barbican Members Plus on Friday 25 October 2019 and to Barbican Members on Monday 28 October 2019. From only £54, Barbican Members get priority booking, discounted tickets (subject to availability) and pay no booking fees. They can also take advantage of exclusive behind-the-scenes events and the Members' Lounge. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday 1 November 2019.

American Shakespeare Center Announces 2020 Programming

In a Sunday presentation broadcast from the stage of the Blackfriars Playhouse - the world's only recreation of Shakespeare's indoor theatre - American Shakespeare Center (ASC) Artistic Director Ethan McSweeny announced the fifteen plays produced over three distinct seasons that will comprise the company's 2020 artistic programming, his second year and first full season at the helm.

Shakespeare's Globe Announces 2019/20 Sam Wanamaker Playhouse Season: She Wolves And Shrews

Shakespeare's Globe has announced the 201920 Sam Wanamaker Playhouse Season. Centred around She Wolves and Shrews, the season is a celebration and interrogation of women, power, and the role of the feminine in shaping our past, present and future. The candlelit Sam Wanamaker Playhouse will play host to a world-premiere of Ella Hickson's new play Swive [Elizabeth], Shakespeare's Henry VI, Richard III, and The Taming of the Shrew, and Middleton's Women Beware Women. Sandi and Jenifer Toksvig have written a new family show dubbed, Christmas at the (Snow) Globe, and a series of candlelit ghost tales will include a new story from Jeanette Winterson. Other events running throughout the season include half-term storytelling festival, Half Term Tales at the Globe, with the new Children's Laureate Cressida Cowell, and a double bill of Virginia Woolf's A Room of One's Own and Three Guineas, marking the centenary year since the removal of the sex disqualification act. The Globe's flagship project for secondary and post-16 students, Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank, reaches its 14th year with Macbeth.

Shakespeare Project Of Chicago Presents Free Performances Of THE ROARING GIRL

The Shakespeare Project of Chicago wraps up its 24th Theatrical Reading Season with free performances of Thomas Dekker and Thomas Middleton's Jacobean city comedy THE ROARING GIRL, running May 10-16, 2019, at eight Chicago-area venues, including two new venues for this season in La Grange and Elmhurst.

Fools & Kings Project Presents TIMON OF ATHENS

The Fools & Kings Project will present the rarely-done classic, Timon of Athens, by William Shakespeare and Thomas Middleton, opening this weekend. The unique opportunity to see this exciting ensemble production will only run for eight performances, May 3-19th. Timon of Athens is directed by David GR Brummer and Conor D Mullen. The six-person cast features Robert Bradvica, David Federman, Will Lippman, Malinda Logan, Rachel Weekley, and Madeleine Emerick as Timon.

Shakespeare Project Of Chicago Presents Free Performances Of MOBY DICK - REHEARSED, Orson Welles's Adaptation Of Herman Melville's Novel

The Shakespeare Project of Chicago presents a special production of MOBY DICK-REHEARSED, Orson Welles's adaption of Herman Melville's novel, for two performances: March 15 at the Niles-Maine District Library and March 16 at the Newberry Library. The theatrical reading is part of the Newberry's special exhibition celebrating the 200th anniversary of Melville's birth - 'Melville: Finding America at Sea.' Admission is free and registration is required at both venues.
