The summer theatre season has officially arrived with The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey’s Outdoor Stage production of William Shakespeare’s 'Much Ado About Nothing.'

Today, Theatre Under The Stars announced changes to its upcoming 2022/23 Season including the addition of a brand new show. TUTS will be producing the regional premiere of The Secret of My Success. Based on the hit 1980s film that starred Michael J. Fox.

The Public Theater announced complete casting today for the Free Shakespeare in the Park production of Public Works’ AS YOU LIKE IT, closing out the 60th Anniversary Season at The Delacorte Theater. Featuring music and lyrics by Shaina Taub and more.

South Coast Repertory announced today its 2022-23 season, which centers around a bold rotating repertory of two plays written 80 years apart with common themes—one an American classic, the other a contemporary hit—one world premiere musical, one world premiere drama, a play with music featuring the hits of Nina Simone and a new take on a children's classic.

Panic! Productions, Born To Perform Studio and BarCinBoo Productions announce the addition of acclaimed choreographer Michelle Elkin and multiple award winning musical director Lloyd Cooper will join the team, along with Barry Pearl, of the popular teen musical 13.  

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley continues its 51st season with the hit musical Ragtime. This sweeping and stirring musical masterpiece paints a portrait of America at the dawn of the twentieth century, interweaving the lives of three families—an African American family, a Jewish Immigrant family, and a wealthy white family—finding their places and pursuing the American Dream in a rapidly changing world. Featuring a Tony Award-winning book by Pulitzer Prize finalist Terrence McNally (Master Class, Kiss of the Spider Woman, The Rink) and a Tony Award-winning score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens (Once on This Island, Anastasia, Seussical The Musical), this musical is based on E. L. Doctorow’s best-selling novel of the same name. Ragtime will be presented June 1-26, 2022 (press opening: June 4) at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts. Main Street Theatre Works (MSTW) will bring another summer of laughs to the Kennedy Mine Amphitheatre in Jackson. The 2022 summer season starts with the “who’s on first” comedy, The Outsider, by Paul Slade Smith, directed by Julie Anchor, followed by Four Weddings and an Elvis, by Nancy Frick, and directed by Allen Pontes. 

The 2022 Tommy Tune Awards from Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) held virtually once again this year, premiered at 7 p.m. tonight on the musical theatre company’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.

Theatre Under The Stars hosted the Leading Ladies Luncheon on April 22 at Houston’s renowned Tony’s on Richmond Ave. The event honored Cissy Segall Davis with the Shirley Stein Outstanding Champion in the Arts and Education Award for her extensive work in the arts community in Houston.

The University of Houston's Kathrine G. McGovern College of Arts will present Little Shop of Horrors - the college's first ever full scale musical production. A classic Broadway title originally adapted from the 1960 film written by Charles B. Griffith & directed by Roger Corman, Little Shop marks the first collaborative production by students and faculty from Moores School of Music and The School of Theatre and Dance.

The Griswolds’ Broadway Vacation, The Musical will make its debut this fall at Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre from September 10 – October 1, followed by an engagement at Houston’s Theatre Under the Stars from October 25 – November 6 prior to its arrival on Broadway (date and theatre to be announced).
