Romance is back in the air at Good Theater with Joshua Harmon's bittersweet hit comedy SIGNIFICANT OTHER. SIGNIFICANT OTHER opens March 2nd and plays through March 20th, 2022 at Good Theater's home, the St. Lawrence Arts Center, 76 Congress Street, Portland. 

Mrs. Doubtfire will re-open on Broadway at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre (124 W 43rd St, NYC) on Thursday, April 14, 2022.

Everyone knows it is tough times for the theater industry. Broadway’s indeed thankfully back, but amid rising Covid cases wreaking havoc on casts and keeping audiences away, the return has not been smooth. And now the theater industry has entered the cold winter months, traditionally tough times at the box office. So when the producers of MRS. DOUBTFIRE announced the show was taking a “hiatus” – as the press release read – from January 10 through March 14, theater insiders could understand why. But nothing is as simple as it seems. The decision shines a spotlight on the tense relationship between Broadway producers and Broadway’s 14 unions in these difficult times.

Page 73 has announced 10 semifinalists for the 2022 Page 73 Playwriting Fellowship. From a pool of over 300 applicants, Page 73 has selected Melis Aker, Syreeta Briggs, Vichet Chum, Kate Douglas, Ryan Drake, Marvin González De León, Majkin Holmquist, Deepa Purohit, Gab Reisman, and Haygen-Brice Walker.

Roundabout Theatre Company has released a first look portrait of the cast of the Broadway premiere of Trouble in Mind by Alice Childress, starring Tony & Emmy Award-winner LaChanze and directed by Charles Randolph-Wright.

On Monday, December 13, at 8:00pm ET, Emmy and Tony Award–winning actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth will ring in the holiday season at the Metropolitan Opera with a one-night-only concert, Kristin Chenoweth: Christmas at the Met.

Broadway favorite Kristin Chenoweth will soon walk down the aisle! According to Vogue, the stage and screen star is engaged to musician Josh Bryant, who proposed at the Rainbow Room earlier this week. The couple met in 2016 and started dating in 2018.

Roundabout Theatre Company presents the new Broadway production of the Tony Award nominated and Olivier Award-winning musical Caroline, or Change, which opens tonight, at Studio 54.

Today's episode features stage and screen star Mary McCormack. Tony-nominated for her role in Broadway’s “Boeing Boeing” opposite Mark Rylance, she is also widely known for her four seasons as a regular cast member of “The West Wing' (two SAG Award nominations), as the lead of USA’s critically acclaimed “In Plain Sight,” and for her role opposite Howard Stern in Private Parts. 

When the American Theater Group's The Evolution of (Henry) Mann premieres at The Fellowship Cultural Arts Center this week, it will mark not only a reimagined version of a promising new musical, but also the culmination of 40+ year friendship between composer/lyricist Douglas J. Cohen and ATG's Producing Artistic Director Jim Vagias.

North Carolina Theatre announced today that the leading role of “Billie Holiday” in their upcoming production of Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill will be performed by Angela Robinson, directed by Jarvis Antonio Green.  

Ahead of a new Christmas album for 2021, the first song has been released. The song is a mashup, including Happiness (Is Christmas), a reworked song from the musical You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, for which Chenoweth won a Tony Award in 1999. The song is mashed up with Christmas Time Is Here, which was featured in the film A Charlie Brown Christmas.

The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre is preparing for a heartwarming romantic comedy this fall when its production of the Broadway classic The Pajama Game takes to the stage.  Opening Friday, September 10th, the production was rescheduled from earlier this season.
