2014 Wall Street Journal director of the year Eric Tucker brings his irreverent embrace of Shaw's whimsy to American Shakespeare Center (ASC) with a production of Caesar and Cleopatra sure to leave audiences breathless with laughter and enthralled by the ensemble's imagination and versatility.

Salty Brine announces a new cabaret-theater hybrid production, Bigmouth Strikes Again, at downtown cabaret and music venue Joe's Pub at The Public Theater. Brine will perform the show as part of his long-running series, The Living Record Collection.

On Monday's episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan, Jonathan Groff stopped by to talk about season two of his Netflix series Mindhunter. During the interview, host Kelly Ripa brought up that Groff made his TV debut many years ago on the soap opera One Life to Live. 

Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) today announced the cast for the buoyant Tiny Beautiful Things, Nia Vardalos' stage adaptation of The New York Times' bestseller Tiny Beautiful Things: Advice on Love and Life from Dear Sugar by Cheryl Strayed, directed by Jen Wineman, from September 11 to October 6 at the Nancy L. Donahue Theatre, according to Executive Director Bonnie J. Butkas and Interim Artistic Director Terry Berliner.

The Bushwick Starr kicks off its 2019-20 Season with Waterboy and the Mighty World, a new piece created by Justin Hicks, Kenita Miller-Hicks, and Jade Hicks, the husband-wife-sister trio The HawtPlates (690 Wishes at JACK and PS122).

Ted Sperling, Artistic Director of MasterVoices, announced details of the acclaimed ensemble's 78th season, celebrating the joy of choral singing and the power of the human voice to unite, inspire and connect since 1941. Highlights include three major musical presentations at top venues, including a New York premiere, and the World Premiere of a new work, commissioned by the Company. Throughout the season there will be collaborations with leading singers, artists, ensembles and organizations, some who are familiar with and others who are new to the Company.

Cleveland Play House opens its 2019-2020 season with the celebratory, heart-felt comedy Into The Breeches! written by George Brant. Directed by CPH Artistic Director Laura Kepley, the uplifting, laugh-out-loud comedy runs from September 14th through October 6th in the Allen Theatre at Playhouse Square.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, WAITRESS will end its Broadway run at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2020. When the show says goodbye to Broadway, it will have played 33 previews and 1544 performances.

Due to previously scheduled projects, David Poe and Kacie Sheik will exit Goodspeed Musicals' Because of Winn Dixie.

Poster House announces that legendary graphic designer and Pentagram partner Paula Scher will be donating 55 posters from her personal archive to the museum's permanent collection. These posters include rare prints of Scher's award-winning and hugely influential works for The Public Theater from the mid-1990s, along with a number of personal and other commercial projects. 

Jonathan Groff appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night, where he took time to record voice memos for Fallon's children as Kristoff, his character from Frozen!

Julian Christopher, Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, C.A. Johnson, and Abe Koogler have been selected as the 2019-20 Rita Goldberg Playwrights' Workshop Fellows. Written by Tony Award winner Simon Stephens and Olivier Award nominee Nick Payne and directed by Carrie Cracknell, the acclaimed production comes to Broadway following its sold-out engagement at The Public Theaterthis past spring where it had audiences roaring to their feet.

The UK première of the hit Off-Broadway musical SHIDA, written and performed by Jeannette Bayardelle, is today announced. The award-winning production, directed by Andy Sandberg, opens at The Vaults on 13 September, with previews from 11 September, and runs until 13 October.
