HAMILTON On Sale Next Week In Milwaukee

Producer Jeffrey Seller, Johnson Financial Group Broadway at the Marcus Center and Broadway Across America-Milwaukee announced today that single tickets for HAMILTON will go on sale to the public Tuesday, September 10 at 10:00 AM CT at Ticketmaster.com or in person at the Marcus Performing Arts Center (929 N. Water Street) at 8:00 AM CT.  Tickets will be available for performances October 22 a?" November 17, 2019.

The Bushwick Starr will kick off its 2019-20 Season with Waterboy and the Mighty World, a new piece created by Justin Hicks, Kenita Miller-Hicks, and Jade Hicks, the husband-wife-sister trio The HawtPlates (690 Wishes at JACK and PS122). The group features Justin Hicks, composer/performer from Lynn Nottage's Mlima's Tale (The Public Theater), Empire State Works in Progress (The Whitney Museum), and Shasta Geaux Pop(The Highline) among others.

While the name Walt Disney will certainly be familiar to all those arriving at the Delacorte for Public Works' stage adaptation of the 1997 animated musical feature Hercules, hopefully a good deal of them will leave Central Park remembering the name Lear deBessonet.

Broadway-Bound SIX & More Earn Nominations For The 51st Annual Jeff Awards

Eleven world premiere plays and musicals seen first by Chicago audiences were among those receiving nominations by the Jeff Awards, announced today. A total of 192 nominations were made in 34 categories that honor Chicago Equity theatrical productions that opened between August 1, 2018 and July 31, 2019. During the 2018-19 season, Jeff Awards judges attended opening nights of 132 Equity productions offered by 43 producing organizations and from these openings, 112 productions were a?oeJeff Recommendeda?? and eligible for award nominations.

The Encore Musical Theatre Company Presents The Tony Award-Winning Musical FUN HOME

Winner of five Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Fun Home opens The Encore Musical Theatre Company's 12th season and will run Sept. 12-Oct. 13, 2019. Described as 'A Family Tragicomic,' Fun Home was written by cartoonist Alison Bechdel, best known for her long-running comic strip 'Dykes to Watch Out For.' Named the Best Book of 2006 by Time magazine, Fun Home was adapted into a musical by Lisa Kron and Jeanine Tesori (Shrek, Violet, Thoroughly Modern Millie) and opened on Broadway in 2015 after a sold-out Off-Broadway run at the Public Theater in 2013.
