Somehow, I had managed to avoid seeing the Broadway production of The Lion King for its decades-long existence. Well, maybe not avoid necessarily--it was killing me that I'd never planned well enough to catch it. So until I did, I avoided anything that might make my first viewing any less magical than if I was my 8-year-old self seeing my first Disney musical on Broadway. 

Florida Studio Theatre presents the original music revue, Friends in Low Places, celebrating the contemporary country musicians who transformed their genre and shot to the top of the charts. Exploring the artists who brought country music into the mainstream, like Garth Brooks, Miranda Lambert, and George Strait, this all-new Cabaret features such songs as “Could I Have This Dance,” “Bluebird,” and “Good Hearted Woman.”

DCPA Off-Center is seeking proposals for new, COVID-safe theatrical experiences as part of its Powered By Off-Center program. One project will be selected to receive a fully-supported world premiere production in June 2021.
