On Sunday, March 12th, I had the pleasure of seeing yet another phenomenal installment of the Downtown Cabaret Theatre’s Decades in Music series, THE 1980S.  Of the three so far, this one has been my favorite!  THE 1980S is written by Phill Hill, directed and choreographed by Jennifer Kaye, and performed at the Downtown Cabaret Theatre in Bridgeport CT.  THE 1980S represents a trip through song, dance, and video clips of the decade I entered as a pre-schooler and left as a high school freshman.  Consistently with the Decades in Music series, the usual stellar cast of Robert Peterpaul, Everton Ricketts, Mikayla Petrilla, and Saige Bryan provide first-rate performances that truly captivate the feel of the decade and radiate positive energy throughout the audience.  The performers have excellent stage chemistry with each other, harmonize well, and truly look like they are having a great time up on stage, and when breaking the fourth wall and interacting with the audience!

The Southmoore High School Spring production is SpongeBob The Musical. This whimsical take on the popular 1990s cartoon features a star-studded lineup of original tunes by Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, Cyndi Lauper, Panic! At the Disco, Lady A, and more. The large ensemble cast is having the time of their lives with this fish tale.

Emerging pop singer and songwriter Juliana Tucker has released her debut EP, The Great Indoors. Juliana has also issued the official music video for new single “Fair Warning,” directed and produced by STILLVIKA. Listen to the new EP and watch the music video now!

The Grand Prairie Arts Council will present THE SPONGEBOB MUSICAL, written by Kyle Jarrow, with musical production conceived by Tina Landau, and co-direction by Leslie Navarro and Spencer Bovaird. The show runs March 17 - 26, 2023, at the Uptown Theater.

Musical Theatre of Anthem (MTA) has announced their upcoming production of The SpongeBob Musical, a musical extravaganza with songs written by the most popular recording artists such as Aerosmith, John Legend, and Sara Bareilles. Fans of the show will be highly entertained by the stage version, but even if you have no knowledge of the television version, the stage production will surely not disappoint! 

Jesus Christ Superstar is set against the backdrop of an extraordinary series of events during the final weeks of the life of Jesus Christ as seen through the eyes of Judas. Gareth Gates and Divina de Campo will star in the UK Premiere of the Tony Award nominated, award-winning THE SPONGEBOB MUSICAL which opens at the Mayflower Theatre, Southampton* on Wednesday 5 April 2023.

Parton stated that she she will be joined on the album by P!nk, Brandi Carlile, Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks, John Fogerty, Steve Perry, Steven Tyler, and more. The album will feature covers of songs like 'Stairway to Heaven' and 'Satisfaction.' Parton also teased that she and music icon Cher are wokring on heading into the recording studio.
