Riverside Theatre has announced the Golden Era film turned stage musical Singin’ in the Rain as the next production of the 2024-2025 season on the Stark Stage.

Riverside Theatre will present the mind-bending thriller by Steven Dietz, Yankee Tavern. Part of the Bobbie Olsen Series on the Waxlax Stage, Yankee Tavern performs at Riverside Theatre from March 19 – April 7, 2024. 

The world premiere of new play, Elegy for a Fallen Angel, is coming to Connecticut next month. Opening for two performances only at Madison Lyric Stage. I sat down with playwright Marc Deaton to learn more.

Riverside Theatre, led by Producing Artistic Director/CEO Allen D. Cornell,  Managing Director/COO Jon R. Moses, and Director of Special Initiatives/CFO Patti Rooney, celebrates its 50th Anniversary season by presenting the musical spectacular, 42nd Street.

Riverside Theatre will present the new comedy-drama by Stephen Sachs, Bakersfield Mist. Bakersfield Mist performs on the Waxlax Stage from January 31 – February 19, 2023.

D.W. Gregory's political thriller Memoirs of a Forgotten Man will receive an industry reading on Thursday, December 1 at 2:30 p.m. Directed by James Glossman, the reading takes place at the Mary Rodgers Room at the Dramatists Guild.

Head Over Heels (June 3 - June 26, 2022, at The Gateway Playhouse), is the hit, bold new musical comedy from the visionaries (Jeff Witty and James Magruder) that rocked Broadway with Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Avenue Q, and Spring Awakening.

Sex and the City has returned for a new spin-off series, starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis. Read about the many Broadway appearances from the casts of different incarnations of the beloved franchise, including Chris Noth, David Eigenberg, Mario Cantone, and Kim Cattrall.

The Gateway will open NEWSIES to fully vaccinated audiences beginning August 25th at Patchogue Theatre. The entire company including all actors, musicians, technical support personnel, directors, designers, box office and admin staff have all been fully vaccinated for Covid-19. 

Disney's Newsies, presented by The Gateway, will be the first full-scale professional production at the Patchogue Theatre since shutting down due to the pandemic. It will run from August 25 through September 11th.

Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, Sara Ramírez and Chris Noth will star in the upcoming revival series.

Boomerang Theatre Company has announced a workshop of TRIPLE THREATS, a new musical with book by Tracey Conyer Lee and music/lyrics  by Lee and Nehemiah Luckett.

A virtual reading of the new comedy It's About Family, written by Josh Canfield, will be presented May 5 at 8 PM ET. The event will help raise funds for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS

Rehearsals have begun for Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express, on stage March 6 through 15. This 'classic whodunit' takes audiences on a fast paced thrill ride with a train full of suspects, and each one with an alibi! There are twists and turns aplenty in this intrigue-filled story, newly adapted for the stage from Agatha Christie's masterpiece by two-time Tony-nominated playwright Ken Ludwig. This unforgettable mystery takes audiences on a thrilling ride - Just after midnight, a snowdrift stops the Orient Express in its tracks. The luxurious train is surprisingly full for the time of the year, but by the morning it is one passenger fewer. An American tycoon lies dead in his compartment, stabbed a dozen times, his door locked from the inside. Isolated and with a killer in their midst, detective Hercule Poirot must identify the murderer - in case he or she decides to strike again.

In remounting playwright Joe Landry's live radio play version of the beloved classic IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE, Portland Stage serves up a family friendly show filled with all the sweetness and nostalgia that make the holidays memorable. The production, directed and designed by Anita Stewart, tells the tale of George Bailey with warmth and humor, underscoring effectively the messages of kindness, gratitude, and integrity without ever becoming saccharine.

New Jersey Repertory Company (NJ Rep) is now presenting the National New Play Network Rolling world premiere of D.W. Gregory's Memoirs of a Forgotten Man by through September 15, 2019. This intriguing political thriller, based on a true story, is expertly directed by James Glossman and features an outstanding four-person cast.
