This December, The Actors Studio continues its 75th Anniversary celebration as the world's most celebrated and influential membership association for professional actors, directors and playwrights. The legendary studio, located at 432 West 44th Street, will open its doors to the public for with three special events, each free and open to the public.

The Actors Studio, now celebrating 75 years as the world’s most celebrated and influential membership association for professional actors, directors & playwrights, will open its doors to the public to observe “Actors Studio In Process” on Friday, November 11 and Saturday, November 12 at 7PM.

Academy Award nominee Bruce Dern (Nebraska), Stephen Lang (Avatar franchise), and Shane West (Gotham) highlight this stylish, intense horror-thriller following a husband and wife's weekend in a mid-century modern vacation rental turned deadly when the husband discovers the owner is a psychopath.

For the first time ever, Ronald Rand allows us to enter into his two-hour transformation as he embodies 79-year-old Harold Clurman, the 'Elder Statesman of the American Theatre,' as he brings him to life in his world-acclaimed solo play, LET IT BE ART! performing in 25 countries and twenty states.

The series stars Stephen Lang as Hawkeye, Sasha Lane as Ash, and features performances by Tracie Thoms, Jess Barbagallo, Michelle Hurd, Bobby Moreno, Joe Morton, and Lea DeLari.

Torrance Theatre Company is completing its first PLAY-AT-HOME series of online theatrical experiences, designed to entertain audiences during the stay-at-home orders. All productions are performed live onstage within the theater while observing all COVID-19 restrictions, and recorded for broadcast. The final three plays presented in December include Beyond Glory, Driving Miss Daisy, and A Christmas Carol: A Live Radio Play.

The timely nature of the play, given how many seniors are now dealing with living alone in isolation which can lead to loneliness and depression to the point of feeling hopeless, THE VELOCITY OF AUTUMN adds in a much-needed dose of how important it is to stay in touch and support our elderly family members who are struggling during our current on-going pandemic.

For the past few months, I have been enjoying the PLAY-AT-HOME series of nine plays being presented online by Torrance Theatre Company. What makes their virtual theater series unique from others is that each play is being broadcast live from within the walls of their theater, staged on three pre-set playing areas separated far enough apart to follow COVID-19 safety guidelines for the cast and production team. On Sunday, October 18th, I tuned in for Lauren Gunderson's BAUER which has a 24-hour encore on Sunday, October 25th.

Oklahoma City Repertory Theatre (OKC Rep), Oklahoma's award-winning professional regional theatre announced today that its founding Artistic Director Donald Jordan will transition and assume the title of 'Founding Artistic Director emeritus' in the Summer of 2021.

The first play in the series was IT HAD TO BE YOU, written by Renee Taylor and Joseph Bologna, on Sunday, September 6 at 6pm. This delightful comedy, directed by Gary Kresca, shares a fantasy story created by Theda Blau (Jessica Plotin), a failed actress, health food nut, and would-be playwright who wants to find love and success in New York. After an audition, the totally unprepared Theda meets Vito Pignoli (Steve Oreste), a hugely successful TV commercial director who had been sitting quietly in the booth listening to her jabber uncontrollably, her flighty nature both a turn-on and turn-off.

During this time when productions all over the world have been put on pause, we are coming together to celebrate plays that have left their mark on theater history. This week we will be focusing on the plays of Pulitzer Prize winning playwright, Arthur Miller. Today's play, Death of a Salesman!

Global box office phenomenon “Avatar” will be available on Disney+ when the highly-anticipated streaming service launches in the U.S., Canada and The Netherlands on November 12, followed by Australia and New Zealand on November 19, it was announced today.  Disney+ will be the exclusive subscription streaming home of the award-winning cutting-edge film, which will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of its theatrical release on December 18.  From visionary director James Cameron, “Avatar” was the first motion picture of its kind to utilize a new generation of special effects to deliver a fully immersive cinematic experience. Ovation TV, America's only arts network, has announced a half-hour documentary special about the history of The Actors Studio in support of the new season of Inside the Actors Studio. Featuring exclusive interviews with prominent members of The Actors Studio, The Actors Studio Mastering the Art Form will air on Ovation on Friday, November 8th at 12pm ET.

Triple-threat singer/songwriter/guitar monster Bobby Messano rips the slide from summer to fall with an October run of dates that includes a wild mix of solo performances, duo shows with keyboardist/vocalist Bob Malone (John Fogerty) and full band appearances. 'The change ups should keep things interesting,' notes the virtuoso.
