Featuring over one hundred San Diego State University students, Chess: In Concert will be available for digital streaming from December 3 – 6, 2020. Chess is written by Tim Rice, Benny Andersson, and Björn Ulvaeus.

The San Diego State University MFA Musical Theatre Program is continuing their innovative two-year development program dedicated to fostering the creation of new musicals with Postcard American Town by Lynne Shankel and Crystal Skillman.

The first part of an upcoming series, the Penn State Centre Stage Virtual group will present 'The Living Room Project' on Monday, June 8 at 7pm ET, according to Penn State University News.

The MFA Musical Theatre Program at SDSU is introducing the SDSU Studio Series, available to university musical theatre faculty and students worldwide.

The San Diego State University MFA Musical Theatre Program, under the supervision of Robert Meffe and Stephen Brotebeck, will present a staged reading of the musical Modern. Written by Selda Sahin and Derek Gregor, directed by Shayne Mims, with music direction by Richard Morrison. The presentation will take place Friday, January 31 at 3:30 pm in the Experimental Theatre on the SDSU campus. Admission is free and open to the public.  

The SDSU School of Theatre, Television, and Film presents She Loves Me, a warm, romantic musical comedy with an endearing innocence and a touch of old-world elegance. She Loves Me runs Wednesday, Dec. 4 through Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019, in SDSU's Don Powell Theater.

Diversionary has announced its 2019-2020 line up. It is Executive Artistic Director Matt M. Morrow's fifth full season of programming. He has this to say about the season:

JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH, now playing at the San Diego State University's Don Powell Theatre is a delightfully entertaining, and creative show with wonderful sets, puppets, and a cast.  It's only playing through May 3rd so go see it before it's gone!

Productions is pleased to announce the return of BREAKING THE SHAKESPEARE CODE by John Minigan (Massachusetts Cultural Council Artist Fellow), directed by Stephen Brotebeck (Broadway's Peter and the Starcatcher and Ghost, The Musical).

The San Diego State University MFA Musical Theatre Program has launched an innovative two-year development program dedicated to fostering the creation of new musicals. The SDSU MFA New Musical Initiative was conceived with the idea of helping musical theatre writers develop a new work through a two-year process including a reading (fall 2018), a workshop (spring 2019) and a full production (spring 2020). After a competitive submission process, which saw over 120 new scripts and scores, the selection committee chose 'Til Death Do Us Part by Bobby Cronin and Caroline Prugh.

From child stars to a math teacher, these 16 young theatre talents will be sent to Broadway on a week-long scholarship course courtesy of the INDONESIA MENUJU BROADWAY program.

The intensive musical theatre training of INDONESIA MENUJU BROADWAY is well underway, as 70 of Indonesia's most promising musical talents are being taught by a team of Broadway professionals from Passport to Broadway led by Amy Weinstein and Stephen Brotebeck.
