Tony Award nominee WILL SWENSON (Priscilla: Queen of the Desert; Hair) will play the role of Richard Hoover in the upcoming off-Broadway musical comedy, LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE, with book and direction by Tony Award-Winner JAMES LAPINE and music and lyrics by Tony Award Winner WILLIAM FINN. Mr. Swenson replaces the previously announced Will Chase.

Sting discusses his upcoming full-length album of new music, 'The Last Ship' consists of songs that he has written for a new musical of the same name which will head to Broadway in 2014.

Fifty-three of Broadway's brightest and most compassionate stars spent last night sleeping on the streets outside the Covenant House crisis shelter in Manhattan in solidarity with the 300 homeless young people living inside.The first-ever Covenant House Broadway Sleep Out raised over $136,000 to provide food, clothing, shelter, and hope for homeless youth.

Neil Berg will co-chair a committee, along with his friends Frank Wildhorn (Composer), Stephanie J. Block (Broadway Star), and Capathia Jenkins (Broadway Star), for a new type of fundraising event for Covenant House International. It is called Sleep Out: Broadway Edition, and on August 17th, the committee, along with many others in the NY Theater Community, will be spending an entire night sleeping on the streets of NYC to raise money and awareness for Covenant House's mission. Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson have also joined the project as honorary chairs.

According to an Equity casting notice, Sting's new stage musical, THE LAST SHIP, which will soon have a benefit concert at the Public Theatre, will be heading to Broadway in 2014. Rehearsals are set to begin in May of 2014, with an out of town run beginning in June, and Broadway previews beginning in October/November.

Billy Porter, 2013 Tony Award Winner for Best Actor in a Musical (Kinky Boots) surprised students of Broadway Artists Alliance Summer Intensive Session One with his appearance on July 25th. Porter entertained the students with tales of his experiences. In addition, he participated in a Q&A, answering student's questions and providing advice for young performers. Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) has announced additional cast members for its upcoming new musical comedy, LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE. JOSH LAMON (Hair, Elf), Tony Award-Nominee RORY O'MALLEY (The Book of Mormon, 2ST's current Nobody Loves You), DAVID RASCHE (2ST's Warrior Class), LOGAN ROWLAND (The Addams Family), JENNIFER SANCHEZ (West Side Story), and WESLEY TAYLOR ('Smash,' Rock of Ages) will join previously announced cast members STEPHANIE J. BLOCK, WILL CHASE, and nine-year old HANNAH ROSE NORDBERG in the new musical comedy, LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE. With book and direction by Tony Award-Winner JAMES LAPINE and music and lyrics by Tony Award-Winner WILLIAM FINN, LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE kicks off Second Stage Theatre's 35th anniversary season on October 15 and will officially open in mid-November.

Tony Award winner Gabriel Ebert visited students at Broadway Artists Alliance Alumni Session to share his journey from young actor to Tony Award Winner. Earlier this year, Ebert won the 2013 Tony Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Musical for his portrayal of Mr. Wormwood in Matilda the Musical. Scroll down for photos from the event!

Goodspeed Musicals prsents LMNOP, an edgy new musical about an island whose citizens begin to lose their freedoms one letter at a time. The musical will run from tonight, July 25 to August 18 at The Norma Terris Theatre in Chester, Conn. ­- Goodspeed's home for developing fresh, innovative, and original new musicals.
