Carriageworks, one of Australia's most significant contemporary multi-arts organisations, today announced the program highlights for PARTY | PROTEST | REMEMBER, a free precinct wide event on 12 November that celebrates the 50th anniversary of the founding of the National Black Theatre. 

It is third time lucky for Dominic Cooke's revival of C.P Taylor's GOOD, having been delayed twice by the pandemic. The first production from Cooke and Kate Horton's company, Fictionhouse, it stars David Tennant, Sharon Small and Elliot Levey. So what did the critics think?

From Dennis Nielsen to DJ in Don Juan In Soho, to the murderous vicar in the BBC’s Inside Man, David Tennant seems drawn to playing the antihero. As Professor John Halder, in CP Taylor’s 1982 play GOOD, he captures the moral downfall of an ordinary man who gradually embraces the Third Reich.

The Art Directors Guild (ADG, IATSE Local 800) announced the opening of 'Inventing the Supernatural: Bringing Horror from Script to Screen,' a multi-media exhibition featuring the work of ADG 800 members, at the newly renovated VAMA Gallery (formerly the Da Vinci Gallery) on the Los Angeles City College (LACC) campus.

59E59 Theaters and MHK Productions announced casting for Boswell by Marie Kohler (The Dig) and directed by Laura Gordon (She Stoops to Conquer). Boswell begins previews November 12, 2022, in Theater C and opens November 16 for a run through December 4, 2022.

American Conservatory Theater will usher in the holiday season with the in-person return of its celebrated production of the Charles Dickens classic, A Christmas Carol. A Christmas Carol performs at A.C.T.’s Toni Rembe Theater November 30–December 24, 2022. 

 Opera San José, in association with the Packard Humanities Institute, will host the international operatic conducting debut of prodigy composer/musician Alma Deutscher, who will take the podium for a lavish production of her landmark opera, Cinderella. Based on the classic fairytale, this family-friendly work is reset at an opera company run by a scheming stepmother, in which the title character is a brilliant composer laboring as a lowly copyist.

The Harlem-based national media arts nonprofit dedicated to creating and producing media content about the Black experience has commissioned Feral Films and Sophia Clark (they/them) to direct I Am Who I Say I Am, a three-part series of micro-documentaries with feel-good stories of gender affirmation.

National Alliance for Musical Theatre has announced additional casting for their 34th Annual FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS, which returns in person and takes place on Thursday, October 20 and Friday, October 21, 2022 at New World Stages.

ENOLA HOLMES 2 is directed by Harry Bradbeer, with a screenplay by Jack Thorne and story by Harry Bradbeer & Jack Thorne.  Along with new friends and foes, it stars Millie Bobby Brown, Henry Cavill, David Thewlis, Louis Partridge, Susan Wokoma, Adeel Akhtar, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, and Helena Bonham Carter.
