Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) is proud to present a 2010 Pulitzer Prize finalist and a 2010 Tony Nominee for Best Play, In The Next Room or The Vibrator Play by Sarah Ruhl. The smart, touching, and hilarious period play will be directed by MET Associate Artistic Director, Julie Herber. MadLab Announces 2014 Young Writers Short Play Festival, Running 7/11-26

MadLab will present The Young Writers Short Play Festival, a collection of ten short plays written by eleven Columbus area high school students. MadLab is a non-profit organization that provides an artistic haven for the creation and experience of original works. Part of that effort involves giving young people the opportunity to create original works. This festival was born from that goal. MadLab sought out submissions from area high schools and chose the best plays to produce. Student playwrights will work with experienced local playwrights to help them with their plays.

Emerge Film Festival Comes to Life with Announcement of Final Film Schedule, Award Nominations and Sneak Peek Event

Things are heating up for the inaugural Emerge Film Festival, opening on June 13! The Festival board of directors has released the final film schedule, including more than 40 short, documentary and feature films from Maine, the U.S. and the world. Details for the two-day Lewiston/Auburn, Maine event are outlined on the newly developed website: emergefilmfestival.org.

MET Sets 2014-15 Mainstage Season: CLYBOURNE PARK, THE ELEPHANT MAN & More

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) is proud to announce its 2014-2015 Mainstage season. MET's seventeenth mainstage season will run from September of 2014 through June of 2015 and will feature a classic Shakespeare comedy, a German masterpiece, a World Premiere original, and contemporary crowd pleasers. Season subscriptions are on sale now at a special early bird rate. MET Artistic Director Tad Janes shared his excitement about all the plays, 'This season brings such great plays to the MET! Two very exciting newer plays, Clybourne Park and Good People, both have a great sense of humor, but also have a real depth of message. The Arsonists is a very funny, bordering on absurd, comedy, and we feature two excellent timeless pieces with The Elephant Man and Twelfth Night. Next season also brings a new MET created piece, brought to us by MET Mainstage writing alumni Reiner Prochaska.'

The 2014 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway will be handed out tonight at NYU Skirball Center beginning at 7:00pm EST, and hosted by acclaimed husband and wife actors and comedians, Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman. BWW Reviews: THE MUSICAL OF MUSICALS: THE MUSICAL Brings Roars of Laughter to Quality Hill Playhouse

You get song, you get dance, and the only thing that is missing is seltzer in your pants. The Musical of Musicals: The Musical! is one of the funniest productions to appear on the Quality Hill Playhouse stage. The musical with lyrics by Joanne Bogart, music by Eric Rockwell and stage direction by Rick Truman is performed in five sidesplitting acts. Each paying homage to composers and lyricist teams, all dealing with the same melodrama plot centering on a woman who cannot pay her rent.

This Today, The New School for Drama, SAG Foundation, and BroadwayWorld.com will present a 90-minute career Conversations with Kelli O'Hara and Steven Pasquale, starring together in Broadway's The Bridges of Madison County. Moderated by BroadwayWorld.com's Richard Ridge, O'Hara and Pasquale will share experiences from their careers on stage and screen and their current collaboration with a packed house of more than 400 union actors and drama students at The New School's John L. Tishman Auditorium.
