In his journey to find his way home, he meets a trio of misfits who help him discover the true meaning of friendship, home and self worth. 'Eleemosynary' won the prestigious Los Angeles Drama Critics Award in 1997 for its penetrating study of three remarkable women. MET will present the play as part of its MET-X series. MET-X is programming, usually self-produced by Ensemble Members, created outside of MET's Mainstage season to expand the collective horizons of the Ensemble and its audience. 'Eleemosynary' will play from July 11-12 and July 18-19 at 8pm at Maryland Ensemble Theatre located in the historic FSK Hotel at 31 W Patrick Street in downtown Frederick.

MadLab will present The Young Writers Short Play Festival, a collection of ten short plays written by eleven Columbus area high school students. MadLab is a non-profit organization that provides an artistic haven for the creation and experience of original works. Part of that effort involves giving young people the opportunity to create original works. This festival was born from that goal. MadLab sought out submissions from area high schools and chose the best plays to produce. Student playwrights will work with experienced local playwrights to help them with their plays.
