Everything we know and love about live theater is once again possible thanks to health and safety protocols instilled in all 41 Broadway theatres by the Broadway League. All Broadway theatres in New York City are requiring vaccinations for audience members, performers, backstage crew, and theatre staff.

Ahead of the start of the 38th Season, Theatre Aspen announced today that after a successful first flight, the organization will present its second annual one-person show festival, Solo Flights, as the third act of this year’s summer season, August 25 – 31, 2021 at the Hurst Theatre in Aspen, Colorado.

Lincoln Center Theater’s LCT SPOTLIGHT SERIES, a free program of digital events, featuring LCT artists in performance, conversation and more, will continue on Thursday, June 24 at 7pm with the third episode of “Lileana Blain-Cruz in Conversation: On Directing.”

The fast-growing Berkshire Opera Festival moves full steam ahead after last summer's pandemic cancellations and virtual programs. In accordance with Massachusetts' revised reopening timeline, the two featured operas this summer—at both venues—will be offered at full capacity. Tickets are on sale through the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center box office. 

Sandra Tsing Loh streams her 2015 comedic hit THE BITCH IS BACK for The Broad Stage, beginning June 23, 2021. Michael Ritchie announced that he will retire as Artistic Director of Center Theatre Group on December 31, 2021. Having taken over the position from Founding Artistic Director Gordon Davidson in January, 2005, for more than 16 years, Ritchie has led one of the country’s largest nonprofit regional theatres, producing and presenting 266 productions.

Barrington Stage Company has announced that a second performance has been scheduled for Aaron Tveit Live! In Concert on Monday, July 19 at 8 PM. The encore performance has been scheduled to accommodate worldwide audience demand after tickets for BSC’s Gala performance of Aaron Tveit Live! on Sunday, July 18 quickly sold out.

THE SPOTLIGHT SERIES, a bi-monthly live streamed concert series created by A LITTLE NEW MUSIC will  “spotlight” the dynamic music of composer/lyricist Zoe Sarnak, on June 1st. 

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Rhinebeck Writers Retreat will host nine weeklong in-person residencies for 23 musical theatre writers of nine new musicals between June 27 and August 29.  Writers include Tony-nominee Beth Malone, Emily Saliers of Indigo Girls; Jonathan Larson winners Avi Amon, Sara Cooper, Ty Defoe, and Anna Jacobs and more.

Due to popular demand, a 2:30 p.m. matinee has been added to the Pandora Presents Disney Princess - The Concert engagement at the Fabulous Fox Theatre on Saturday, December 11, 2021. Tickets will go on sale Friday, May 28 at 10 a.m.

Following the success of Sue Jin Song's one-woman show Children of Medea, Constellation Theatre Company presents the intimate two-person musical The Last Five Years as the second production in Season 14: Electric Impulses.
