“Stars & Cars Cinema” produced by Brierpatch Theatricals (Laura Janik Cronin and Scott Newsome) kicked off the first weekend of outdoor family fun on Thursday, September 3 with a screening of CAPTAIN MARVEL, followed by KNIVES OUT, SHREK and JUMANJI playing over the long holiday weekend.

Brierpatch Theatricals (Laura Cronin/Scott Newsome, Producers) is have announced a?oeStars & Cars Cinemaa?? an outdoor cinema experience for the whole family beginning Thursday, September 3 at Pfizer/IRG North Lot (401 N. Middletown Road) in Pearl River, NY.

Producers Darlene Kaplan, Laura Janik Cronin and Scott Newsome, in association with Alec Seymour, SPF Group and Susanne Adamski, announced today that The Stone Witch, a play by Shem Bitterman (A Death in Colombia, Influence) will end its run at The Westside Theatre - Upstairs (407 West 43rd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues) after the matinee performance on Sunday, April 29, 2018.  When it closes, it will have played 15 preview performances and 41 regular performances. Performances began Monday, March 12, 2018 for an open-ended engagement. Opening Night was Sunday evening, March 25, 2018.

Very rarely do you hear of new ways to invest in, or contribute to, the theater. Something surprised me recently however--on the website for the off-Broadway commercial production of THE STONE WITCH, you can make a tax deductible donation to the Berkshire Theatre Group (BTG) and have the money go to THE STONE WITCH. According to producers Laura Janik Cronin and Darlene Kaplan, the money goes not to increase BTG's share of the profits, but rather to keep the show afloat.

Theater fans have only a few weeks left to catch the Off-Broadway sensation Spamilton, as producers announced today the show will play its final performance on January 7, 2018.

Last night, Tuesday, November 14, the cast and crew of the hit off-Broadway show Spamilton celebrated an impressive 500 performances since opening in July of 2016. THE BRIGHTNESS OF HEAVEN, a new play by best-selling author Laura Pedersen, directed by Ludovica Villar-Hauser is now playing Off-Broadway the Cherry Lane Studio Theatre (38 Commerce Street, Manhattan). Presented by The VH Theatrical Development Foundation, THE BRIGHTNESS OF HEAVEN began performances on October 16th and opened on October 26th. Groupon today announced that it has hired Tony Award-Winning Broadway producer, Hugh Hysell, to lead National Broadway and Live Arts for GrouponLive. In addition to producing the Broadway productions of Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike and Peter and The Starcatcher, Hysell has marketed more than 200 Broadway and Off Broadway shows with his company HHC Marketing. While at HHC, he also served as the national sales director for BroadwayBox.
