A bucolic tale of a small community—almost like the town square that Belle from Beauty and the Beast goes through—that makes a sharp turn into human rights violations, “Fiddler on the Roof” asks quite a bit from its actors to go from whimsical country life to a terrified ousted community deemed undesirable by their own government.

In the world of Dickens, the reader is for the long-haul of human emotions, and Theatre Three’s 41st annual production has perfected conveying that panoply of passions in the classic, “A Christmas Carol.”

Port Jefferson’s historic Theater Three certainly has another hit on their hands with their current showing of the mega hit musical The Producers. Closing out their incredible 53rd season, the beautiful Long Island venue has assembled a brilliant cast to flawlessly deliver this Tony, Grammy, and Olivier winning Mel Brooks classic. Indeed, this thrilling production is a must see this exciting Spring season in the lively town.

“Strictly Murder,” a WW2-era thriller from prolific playwright/screenwriter/producer Brian Clemens, premieres this spring as part of the Hampton Theatre Company’s 2023-2024 season, with performances running from March 7 through March 24 at the Quogue Community Hall.  See photos from the production.

What did our critic think of CHARLES DICKENS' A CHRISTMAS CAROL at Theatre Three?

The show is wonderful to begin with; there is no doubt about that. Theatre Three's 37th annual production of the iconic Charles Dickens tale A Christmas Carol has certainly become a beautiful tradition on Long Island. Even with slight changes throughout the years, this ageless production is as spectacular as ever. Jeffrey Sanzel, the Artistic Director of the Port Jefferson venue celebrating its 51st season, directs the dazzling play running through December 26th.

An Act of God opens this Saturday, February 9th at the Smithtown Performing Arts Center!
