Santa Fe Playhouse will present The Mountaintop, by Katori Hall, which explores the inner world of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on the last night of his life. The Mountaintop opens at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, with previews at 7:30 p.m., Sept. 22 and 23, at Santa Fe Playhouse.

Danielle Brooks appeared on TODAY to discuss her upcoming return to Broadway in The Piano Lesson. In the video, Brooks reveals that she used a piece from the play to audition for Julliard. She also teased her role in the musical film adaptation of The Color Purple. Brooks recently wrapped on the film and will be returning to the role of Sofia.

This fall, Tony-nominated actress Danielle Brooks will make her return to Broadway in The Piano Lesson. This morning, Brooks sat down with Ryan Seacrest and Katie Lowes, who has been seen on Broadway in Waitress, on LIVE! to discuss the upcoming production, working with Samuel L. NBC and the Television Academy announced jointly that Kenan Thompson will host the 74th Emmy® Awards. Kenan Thompson is an award-winning actor, comedian and producer, best known for his work on “Saturday Night Live.” This fall he will enter his 20th season on the iconic late-night series as the longest-running cast member. 

The complete cast and creative team have been announced for the first Broadway revival of August Wilson's The Piano Lesson at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre. Joining the cast are Nadia Daniel and Jurnee Elizabeth Swan. Rounding out the company are Shirine Babb, Charles Browning, Peter Jay Fernandez, Sharina Martin, Warner Miller, Doron JePaul Mitchell and Kim Sullivan.

The first Broadway revival of August Wilson's The Piano Lesson will now play the Ethel Barrymore Theatre for its 17-week engagement. The production was originally supposed to come to the St. James Theatre, current home of Into The Woods, which is rumored to be extending.

Netflix’s pop culture phenomenon, Stranger Things, is part of a three-way tie with the Hulu comedy, Only Murders in the Building, and the Hulu Limited Series, Dopesick with a total of 9 nominations each. Stranger Things has been the talk of social media ever since its season four debut on May 27th.

Casting was announced today (20 June 2022) for the smash-hit production of C.S. Lewis' classic The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, which will make its West End premiere this summer at the Gillian Lynne Theatre, Drury Lane, London.  The show, which begins rehearsals today, is produced by the same team that recently won 5 Tony Awards for its production of Company on Broadway.
