New Broadway Play SIDNEY to Explore Sidney Poitier's Life and Career

The legendary life of Academy Award-winning actor, filmmaker, activist and human-rights trailblazer Sidney Poitier set to be a new Broadway play produced by Ron Gillyard (Born for This, Mr. Soul); Poitier's daughter, filmmaker Anika Poitier; and Barry Krost.

Just last night, Roundabout Theatre Company's Broadway premiere of Trouble in Mind opened on Broadway. Trouble in Mind is led by LaChanze as 'Wiletta Mayer,' with Michael Zegen as 'Al Manners,' Chuck Cooper as 'Sheldon Forrester,' Danielle Campbell as 'Judy Sears,' Jessica Frances Dukes as 'Millie Davis,' Brandon Micheal Hall as 'John Nevins,' Simon Jones as 'Henry,' Alex Mickiewicz as 'Eddie Fenton,' and Don Stephenson as 'Bill O'Wray.'

Full Cast and Creative Team Announced for Broadway Premiere of SKELETON CREW

Joshua Boone (Actually at MTC, Network, A Jazzman’s Blues) joins the previously announced Chanté Adams (A Journal for Jordan), Brandon J. Dirden (Jitney at MTC), Adesola Osakalumi (Fela!), and Tony Award winner and five-time Emmy Award nominee Phylicia Rashad (A Raisin in the Sun) to complete the full company.

MTC's LACKAWANNA BLUES Announces Final Extension Through November 12

Manhattan Theatre Club's Broadway premiere of Ruben Santiago-Hudson's Lackawanna Blues will add additional performances on Tuesday, November 9 at 7PM, Wednesday, November 10 at 2PM, Thursday, November 11 at 7PM and Friday, November 12 at 8PM at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street).

Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) have announced that Manhattan Theatre Club’s Broadway premiere of Ruben Santiago-Hudson’s Lackawanna Blues will extend for one additional week of performances, now playing through Sunday, November 7 at MTC’s Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street).

Manhattan Theatre Club announced casting for Manhattan Theatre Club’s Broadway premiere of Skeleton Crew. The cast will feature Chanté Adams (A Journal for Jordan), Brandon J. Dirden (MTC’s Jitney), and Adesola Osakalumi (Fela!) joining previously announced Tony Award winner and five-time Emmy Award nominee Phylicia Rashad (A Raisin in the Sun).
